TNA Impact Wrestling Report: August 18th, 2011: The Good, the Bad, the Ugly

Justin WatryAug 18, 2011

I am going to be perfectly honest with everyone. I did not see the entire episode of Impact tonight. If I missed any details or storylines, please let me know.

With that being said, TNA delivered yet another stink bomb tonight on Spike TV. Again, I missed a lot of the show, but nothing I saw made me want to spend one red cent on this company.

The Good

Kurt Angle tells the world that Crimson is nothing and will never make it in this business. Thank God somebody said it! I know he is just playing a heel here, but right now, he is right.

Of all the talent TNA has, and all the great young guys they could push, they picked Crimson as their "chosen one."

I am sorry, but I do not see it.

Hopefully this is step one in moving the Bound for Glory Series far away from Crimson and not more towards him winning. This guy equals zero buys right now. I wish him all the best in his future, but in two months, he won't be ready one bit.

The Bad

The tag-team scene and the X-Division scene are terrible right now. I couldn't pick just one to rip on here. They are both in the dumps.

The titles being on Mexican America is a joke. Two clowns holding the tag titles that used to actually mean something in DixieLand. No longer can TNA claim to have a great tag division. Now...it's a joke.

I do look forward to Beer Money's future. Whether they go solo in WWE or TNA, both are more than ready to go solo. Potential huge stars right there!

The Ugly

The first 20 minutes of this show were beyond embarrassing for the industry. Sting purposely rolled down a ramp. Rambled on until Flair came out. Then they threw together a retirement match in two minutes. Teased a Hogan match and threw weak "boxing punches" as taunts.

Ugh!

Then Hogan was whining and yelling in his office to Flair while they talked about things that happened 20 years ago. Usually TNA focuses on 10 years ago, not 20 years ago. (Hello, Lynn vs. RVD!)

Follow that opening up with a Scott Steiner vs. Devon match that went two minutes! What year are we in? People wonder why TNA will never grow and why it frustrates all of us so much...

Please go back and watch that first 20 minutes again and tell me who is going to pay money to support this company. Buy a shirt. See them live. Purchase (not steal) their PPVs. Anything?

One final note: Until TNA Impact Wrestling starts with a match, I will mention it...prove me wrong TNA! Prove me wrong!
