Ahhh....the Super Bowl.ย
Another season of football is about to come to an end. As I considerย past matchupsย over the years, I can't help but to reflect upon the pride and the gloryย each fan feels over seeing their team make it to that oh-so-special place of NFL greatness.
Every fan wants to see their team rise to the top. Every fan wants to have bragging rights.

Imagine Green Bay Packer fans....they can say that their team was the first team, and the second for that matter, to win the Super Bowl.ย
Green Bay fans of the past, present and future have the right to wear something as ridiculous as a cheesehead due to the fact the foam block of cheddarย symbolizes an instant association with the namesย Brett Favre, Bart Starr and the immortal Vince Lombardi.
How about 'dem Cowboys? Two words: America's Team.ย
Want more? Tryย Roger Staubach, Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin.
That bright, blue star on that silver helmet is a symbol of success. Tom Landry,ย God rest his soul, is the proud papaย one of the greatest franchises inย sports history; and say what you will, butย Jimmy Johnsonย will never be remembered as the coach of the Miami Dolphins. That honorย belongs to Don Shula.
Speaking of the Dolphins,ย they've certainly had theirย moments of Super Bowl splendor.ย
I could go on and on....there'sย Joe Montana the Magnificent, along with Jerry Rice and the phenomenon known as the San Francisco 49ers. The Denver Broncos have made many appearances with John Elway leading the orange and blue.ย
And don't forget about the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Most recently, we've all witnessed history in the making withย Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, a near perfect team with a perfect,ย record-breaking regular season.ย
The city has a championship baseball team andย aย presidential candidate who looks like a middle-aged Super Man.ย There's even a threat that theย Oldย Men On the Block are planning a comeback.
I don't think I've everย read more buzz about the city of Boston sinceย that tea party in 1773.
Buzz, people!ย ย Buzz is great....WHEN ITย MAKES SENSE!ย
I have one question for anyone reading this that is a New York Giants fan and I want you toย consider what I am asking very carefully...
Win or lose Super Bowlย XLII,ย (and truthfully if the Giants win, I'll be further convincedย that the NFL isย a bookie'sย entertainment venue more so than it is an actual competitiveย sports league) do you, as a New York Giants fan, honestlyย want Little Mr. Oreo Cookie-Munching Eli Manningย to beย the guyย youย look back uponย as you try to identify with the prestigeย of Super Bowl immortality?
Do you?
