College Football Recruiting 2012: Predictions for the Top 5 Uncommitted QBs

Edwin WeathersbyJun 7, 2018

Many of the top QBs in the 2012 recruiting class have interestingly already made their choices: Gunner Kiel, Jameis Winston, Zach Kline, Connor Brewer, and others have already been taken off the board.

So, this list was a bit tough to do, but I'm going to try to make predictions on the top five uncommitted QB prospects left in the 2012 recruiting class.

Let's see where these guys are headed.

5. Robert Gregory

1 of 5

Gregory will make his choice known on September 3rd as he has offers from Arkansas, Iowa, Minnesota, Toledo, and Eastern Michigan.

At 6'2" and 185 pounds, Gregory is a dual-threat QB with a skill set to make plays with his solid arm and passing ability or dazzle a crowd with dynamic runs.

I think he heads to Arkansas.

4. Jeremy Liggins

2 of 5

Liggins is a big QB at 6'4", 260 pounds, and he may move to another position in college. However, he has excellent command of his huddle, sees the field well, and is a great athlete.

He may need to tweak his delivery in college, but Liggins has a solid arm and is a good ball-handler.

Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Alabama, and LSU are the core four. Something tells me that, with Liggins even saying, "I can walk through the woods and be there," Ole Miss wins out for the big signal-caller.

3. Tommy Armstrong

3 of 5

Armstrong is a 6'2", 205-pounder that also has dual-threat ability. He is down to two schools: Nebraska and Southern Miss.

A Mississippi native, Armstrong will not take an official visit to Southern Miss since he's grown up basically on the campus.

He fits their offense well as does he does at his second finalist.

Nebraska represents growth and a "new life" for Armstrong. He plans to visit Lincoln in mid-September and make a decision after he comes back.

I think Nebraska wins out.

2. Anthony Alford

4 of 5

Alford is a 6'1", 210-pounder that will have an interesting decision to make. Not only does Alford have a slew of schools after him as a football player, but he's also considered to be the best baseball prospect in Mississippi.

On the gridiron the QB makes great decisions, sees the field well, and plays with great athletic ability. He can make plays with his arm and legs.

LSU, Ole Miss and Mississippi State are the finalists. But I think wherever Alford pledges to will lose him to baseball because he's going to be a high pick in the 2012 draft.

1. Devin Fuller

5 of 5

An athletic specimen, Fuller stands 6'0", weighs 185 pounds, and moves freely and easily at anything he does.

He has a final list of 11 schools that consists of Alabama, Miami, Penn State, Rutgers, Nebraska, TCU, Kansas, Boston College, UCLA, Georgia Tech, and UConn.

Something tells me that he will choose to stay home and play at Rutgers.
