WWE Smackdown Spoiler from Last Night: Thank You WWE!

For anybody that has been reading my columns over the past week or two, I have been yelling up and down the streets about two things:

1. Politics are huge in this business. Anybody crying over their favorites not being used "right" or "fantasy booking" up and down, you have to realize WWE is a huge company. Backstage politics mean much more than what happens in front of an audience.

2. I have been begging for WWE to end the Randy Orton vs. Christian feud after Summerslam. Rematch clauses thrown out the window. "One more match" stipulations slammed shut. End it at Summerslam.

Well, it looks like I got my wish. Here is the link to the Smackdown spoilers (click here).

Yes, a new #1 Contender was crowned for Orton's World title, and it is none other than Mark Henry. Yes, thank the heavens! Christian seems to be done in the main event for the time being.

I suppose he could be added to make it a triple threat match at the next PPV or try to weasel another title match in the near future, but the message is clear–Orton/Christian are done with each other.

...and I could not be happier.

The "Christian Crew" will likely be up in arms over this decision, but trying to be as realistic as possible, this move was inevitable and makes Smackdown a very interesting show going forward.

Good for Mark Henry! Being one of his few supporters over the years, I am happy for the big man. His past four months have been incredible, and it is about time he gets his due.
