Fantasy Football: Week 11 Waiver Wire

Football ManiaxsNov 12, 2008

By Garth Gregor

Fantasy Football's Week 11 Waiver Wire pickups are here! The wire picks are players who are or were still available in most leagues this week. Depending on how your waiver wire/free agents’ pool works, players may not clear waivers until later this week.

Instead, these players should be monitored or stashed away on your bench for a bye week's use or a future starting spot consideration or played in a bye week emergency.

QUARTERBACKS

Tyler Thigpen - Three straight solid games and an easy schedule going forward. If Larry Johnson ever comes back, even more pressure will be taken off Thigpen.  Sunday the Kansas City quarterback threw for 266 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions and it could be a shootout against New Orleans.  This is the second straight week he has been on the list and is still available in 84 percent of ESPN leagues.

Brady Quinn - Looked pretty comfortable against the Broncos, throwing for 239 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions. He also did not seem to notice he was playing with Braylon Edwards, so there is room for improvement. Quinn plays a Monday Night Football game against the Bills and is still available in 59 percent of ESPN leagues.

Joe Flacco - Another solid quarterback for the last three games.  The rookie may be throwing against a tough Giants' run defense.  Flacco is available in 65 percent of ESPN leagues and is looking better and better each week.

RUNNING BACKS

Ricky Williams - I know Ronnie Brown is better but Williams is available in 53 percent of ESPN leagues and they both play the Raiders this week. Chad Pennington is keeping defenses honest, and Oakland should only be interested in their 2009 draft position.

Cedric Benson - Impossible matchups against Eagles, Steelers, and Ravens are in the horizon. Still, if he can make it through those games with some decent production he can be moved from your roster to your starting lineup in time for the playoffs.  Available in 55 percent of ESPN leagues.

BenJarvus Green-Ellis - Sunday made four straight weeks scoring a touchdown for the rookie.  He plays against a tough New York Jets defense but feature backs are hard to come by on the waiver wire. If Morris and Jordan are ruled out of the EARLY Thursday night matchup, snatch him up in 61 percent of ESPN leagues.

WIDE RECEIVERS

Jason Hill - 10 catches, 122 yards, and a touchdown total in his last two games. If you believe in Martz's system, he should be a safe play in PPR leagues going forward.  Available in every imaginable format, Hill has a dream matchup against the Raiders in Week 11.

Koren Robinson – Another wideout that is available everywhere, Robinson and the Seahawks should be playing from behind against Kurt Warner this week. Hasselbeck might be back in Week 11 and Robinson appears to be the only talent Seattle has. He has scored...
