WWE: 10 Predictions for Triple H's Future with CM Punk and the Fans

Drake OzMay 31, 2018

Triple H has primarily played the role of the good boss since taking over as the WWE's C.O.O., but don't expect that to last too long.

Monday's episode of Raw made it pretty clear that there's a lot more going on behind the scenes than Triple H is letting on and that he could very well be the man behind Kevin Nash's attack on CM Punk.

At this point, though, we don't really know what's going on, which is precisely how it should be.

Unpredictability is the driving force behind compelling storylines, and there are a number of different directions this whole Punk/Triple H/Alberto Del Rio could go in.

But exactly what will go down between Punk and Triple H? And how will the fans respond to Triple H's actions?

Well, here are 10 predictions I have for Triple H's future with Punk and the WWE Universe.

10. Triple H Will Consistently Deny He Knows Who Sent Nash to Lay out CM Punk

1 of 10

Who sent Kevin Nash to attack CM Punk and allow Alberto Del Rio to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase?

That's the question everyone wanted answered on Monday's Raw, and while we get some hints as to who it might be, we didn't find out for sure.

There are a number of possibilities, but in all likelihood, Triple H knows who hired Nash to lay out Punk.

But don't expect Triple H to come out right away and reveal who was behind the attack. Instead, he will come out on Raw every week and deny that he was responsible for it or that he knows who was.

When doing so, though, it will be pretty clear that Triple H knows more than he's letting on, and the WWE fans will grow frustrated with The Game because of his constant denials.

9. Stephanie Will Be Revealed as the Person Behind Nash's Attack on CM Punk

2 of 10

The interaction between Stephanie McMahon and CM Punk at SummerSlam and on Raw was very interesting to say the least, and I'm of the belief that their "relationship" can go one of three ways.

Option 1: Stephanie turns on her husband and sides with Punk.

Option 2: Stephanie is revealed as the person behind Kevin Nash's attack on Punk, because Triple H told her to do it.

Option 3: Stephanie sent Nash to attack Punk on her own.

While I'd love to see Option 1 happen—imagine the possibilities—I think Options 2 and 3 are the more realistic choices here.

In the case of Option 2, the McMahon-Helmsleys will try to rule the WWE much like the Corporation did back in the day.

And Option 3 can lead to a feud between Stephanie and Triple H—who will be pissed that Stephanie went behind his back—or do the same as Option 2.

So, at least initially, I think Stephanie will be a heel who was the culprit behind Nash's attack on Punk.

8. Triple H Will Turn Heel

3 of 10

No matter what all the exact details are, the end result is likely going to be the same: Triple H turning heel.

The Game hasn't been a full-fledged bad guy in several years now, and it's time to freshen up his rather stale face gimmick by having him become the WWE's mega-heel.

There are a boatload of different scenarios as to how Triple H's heel turn can play out, but I'm not really concerned with the specifics.

The bottom line is that Triple H needs to replace Vince McMahon as the uber-heel boss who feuds with the top faces in the WWE.

Much like Stone Cold and Vinny Mac did during the Attitude Era, this would make for great TV.

7. Stephanie Will Turn on Triple H and Side with Punk

4 of 10

Even if Stephanie McMahon is revealed as the person behind Kevin Nash's attack on CM Punk, there's still a way to have her turn on her husband and then join forces with Punk.

Perhaps Stephanie reveals that Triple H demanded that she text Nash, and if she refused, he would have ended their marriage and got rid of her just like he did when he "removed" Vince McMahon from his position as C.E.O.

Now that Stephanie avoided being fired, she wants to do everything in her power to get back at her husband.

So, what better way to do that than siding with Triple H's No. 1 enemy, CM Punk?

Of course, Punk will have to be very forgiving in this situation, but I think he can do that to spend some time with Stephanie. Come on, you know you would.

6. Triple H Will Get Kevin Nash to Do His Dirty Work

5 of 10

With all the history between Triple H and Kevin Nash, most of us would be pretty shocked if the two weren't in cahoots in this situation.

Maybe this is going with the most obvious storyline here, but in all likelihood, Nash is going to side with Triple H at some point down the road.

And, when he does, I fully expect Nash to do all of Triple H's dirty work. That includes anything and everything that Triple H needs Nash to do, including taking out CM Punk.

There's been no confirmation as to whether or not Nash is returning to the ring, but I'd look for Nash to wrestle a few one-on-one PPV matches against Punk, possibly at Vengeance or Hell of a Cell.

Nash would presumably fail at sidelining Punk, causing Triple H to take matters into his own hands.

5. Triple H and Alberto Del Rio Will Feud with John Cena and CM Punk

6 of 10

The Raw main event scene is certainly crowded right now, with a big, tangled mess between John Cena, CM Punk, Triple H and Alberto Del Rio.

Ultimately, Cena has beef with Triple H (for screwing up the finish of his SummerSlam match) and with Alberto Del Rio (apparently for cashing in like a coward).

The same can be said for Punk, who likely believes that Triple H sent Nash to rid him of the title and that he should get his rematch against Del Rio.

Therefore, there's one logical way to settle this thing: Have the bad guys in the situation—Del Rio and Triple H—feud with the good guys—Punk and Cena.

4. Vince McMahon Will Return as a Face to Try to Regain Control from Triple H

7 of 10

Vince McMahon has been written off WWE TV "for good" every summer since 2007, and not surprisingly, he came back every time.

It's not going to be any different in 2011, when Vinny Mac will return to Raw prior to Survivor Series and attempt to regain control of the company from Triple H.

The storyline is rather simple, with McMahon coming back because he thinks Triple H is running his company into the ground.

In this scenario, McMahon would get a massive ovation as a face while feuding with the heel version of his son-in-law.

This would setup a number of huge feud possibilities as we head into 2012.

3. Punk Will Be on Vince's Side as He Battles His Son-in-Law

8 of 10

Wouldn't this be ironic?

Vince McMahon was relieved of his duties as C.E.O. essentially because of what CM Punk did at Money in the Bank—and the fact that he let Punk leave the company—but he returns to battle Triple H with Punk on his side.

It actually makes a lot more sense now than it did just a couple of months ago, with Vince almost assuredly returning as a face and Punk now working as a face as well.

Both Punk and Vince would have legitimate reasons to feud with Triple H, as Triple H cost Punk the WWE Championship and Vince his job.

It would be entertaining to watch another "family feud" that also includes the hottest act in wrestling, CM Punk.

2. Triple H vs. CM Punk at Survivor Series

9 of 10

Ultimately, everything that's been happening on Monday Night Raw is building toward a major feud between Triple H and CM Punk.

That mega-rivalry will conclude with a match between the two at Survivor Series.

Triple H has said in the past that he'll wrestle when he's needed, and given the current major WWE storylines, he's definitely going to be needed at that time.

As much heat as Triple H is going to get if he turns heel, it's not going to mean nearly as much as it should if he doesn't wrestle a match as a heel at a "Big Four" pay-per-view.

Some might argue that Triple H vs. Punk shouldn't happen until Wrestlemania 28, but do you really think they can extend this storyline that far without boring us?

I sure don't.

1. Cena Will Turn Heel at Survivor Series and Side with Triple H

10 of 10

I know I'm dreaming here, but if everything goes according to my plan, it will essentially be Triple H and Kevin Nash feuding against Vince McMahon, Stephanie McMahon and CM Punk.

I'm not exactly a mathematician, but that's 2-on-3.

To even the odds, why not do the unthinkable? Why not turn John Cena heel and have him join forces with Triple H?

Remember that Cena doesn't exactly get along with Punk, Stephanie and especially Vince, so this feud presents a great opportunity to turn Cena to the dark side.

Triple H and Punk can battle at Survivor Series, with this stipulation: If Triple H wins, he retains control of the WWE. If Punk wins, Vince McMahon is reinstated as the WWE Chairman.

During the match, Cena can make his way to the ring, and most fans will expect him to help out the baby face team. But, surprisingly, Cena distracts the ref, allowing Triple H to low blow Punk, hit him with the Pedigree and get the victory.

All of a sudden, Triple H and Cena are the WWE's two biggest heels, while Punk is undoubtedly the No. 1 face in the company.

What? I told you I'm dreaming here.
