AC Milan Transfer News: Gianluca Zambrotta May Get Swapped to Fiorentina
There is yet another twist in AC Milan's transfer window saga.
Liverpool center midfielder Alberto Aquilani has recently seemed as the favorite to move to Milan, but now it appears that the favorite is once again Fiorentina's Riccardo Montolivo.
According to Calciomercato.com, Milan and Fiorentina are discussing a player swap which would see Montolivo move to the Italian champions and out-of-favor fullback Gianluca Zambrotta would move to the Viola.

Zambrotta, the 34-year-old Italian, will find it difficult to get time at Milan this season with the summer purchase of Taye Taiwo at left back and Ignazio Abate quickly becoming one of the league's best right backs. He has played 91 times for Milan since his move from Barcelona in 2008, but his amount of time has decreased every year since his arrival.
Montolivo has said that he will not force a move on Fiorentina, but has confirmed that he will not be staying with the club past this season at the latest.
Earlier this summer, he was stripped of his captaincy, which was given to vice-captain Alessandro Gamberini. Stevan Jovetic became vice-captain.
As noted on Rossoneri Blog, Adriano Galliani has made it known that the summer mercato is not done for Milan and more arrivals are on the way.
There is still the chance of a trequartista this summer, as I mentioned in an article earlier today. Kaka and Christian Eriksen appear to be two of the names making their way around the rumor mill in recent days, but it appears that the Rossoneri will soon have filled one of their voids.
