WWE SummerSlam 2011: How Will It Affect Tonight's Raw?
Last night at SummerSlam, the WWE shut a lot of people up—including me. Many thought that the slim card would hinder the quality of the show, but it didn’t. The two World Title matches alone made the show worth watching.
The question on everyone’s mind now is, what’s the deal with Big Sexy Kevin Nash?
After CM Punk defeated John Cena to become the Undisputed WWE Champion, Triple H showed him some respect and raised his hand in victory. Then when Triple H left the ring, Nash rushed in and took out Punk with a jackknife power-bomb. That gave Alberto Del Rio the chance to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase to become the new WWE Champion.

How will Kevin Nash factor into Monday Night Raw tonight? I see three possible storylines after his actions last night:
1. Kevin Nash was under orders from Triple H and Stephanie McMahon to take out CM Punk if he defeated John Cena.
2. Kevin Nash was acting alone because he was tired of sitting on the sidelines. He wants one final run inside a WWE ring and a shot at the title.
3. He’s Alberto Del Rio’s new bodyguard. Kind of like when Shawn Michaels hired Nash back in 1993.
One and three are the most likely. CM Punk is a problem for the new Triple H regime. He says what he wants, whenever he wants. The Game just got control of the company and he can’t have anyone defying him and making him look weak in the eyes of the board of directors.
I smell a new boss vs. employee storyline here. With reports of WWE wanting to bring back Attitude-era stars to help bring back the viewers they have lost, they could very well be recycling the storyline that put the Attitude-era on the map.
Punk may be great on the mic, but he’s no Steve Austin. Punk and Triple H also don’t have the chemistry Austin and Vince McMahon did—at least not yet.
The third option is the one I think fans will end up seeing. The look of shock on Triple H’s face when Nash took out Punk would indicate that he knew nothing about the attack before hand.
I picture Raw starting like this: Triple H comes to the ring wanting to know what’s going on. Del Rio comes out to explain, bringing Nash along as his new insurance policy. Del Rio could also come out first and then Triple H heads to the ring.
The only thing scheduled tonight is the WWE Title match between Alberto Del Rio and Rey Mysterio. This will no doubt be a good match, but the status of Mysterio’s knee is in question. With Big Daddy Cool possibly in his corner, Del Rio can’t lose.
Also expect to see the fallout of Kelly Kelly vs. Beth Phoenix with Beth reclaiming her No.1 contender’s spot or a win by Natalya. No matter who ends up facing Kelly, this heel’s vs. Barbie’s feud is far from over.
How will the biggest show of the summer affect tonight's Raw? We’ll just have to tune in and find out.
