WWE RAW: 6 Burning Questions Going into Monday Night's Extravaganza

Jim KiJun 7, 2018

Talk about a huge return to form.

For years, we fans of wrestling have lived through the predictability and uncreativity that the WWE has pushed our way. Just recently, with the new CM Punk angle, have we felt a slight return to that old era of uncertainty, where we never new what was coming next.

So it seems now, we fans sit at the edge of our computer chairs, with absolutely no clue whatsoever at what the hell is going to happen tomorrow night on RAW. This is the return to the days of unpredictability, of what's-gonna-happen-next, of "BAH GAWD IN HEAVEN"s. This is the return to the creativity of the Attitude Era.

So, fresh out of Summerslam, fans everywhere find themselves scratching their heads over six impending, crucial, and suddenly-arising questions that will shape the turn of events leading up to WWE's next pay-per-view, Night of Champions.

1. What Role Is Kevin Nash Playing?

1 of 7

Quite possibly the most burning question of the bunch—what is Kevin Nash's role in all of this? What is the actual meaning of his sudden return? Many speculate that Nash is working as a bodyguard of sorts for Del Rio (as his actions helped secure his cash-in).

Perhaps Nash isn't working for Del Rio, and has actually returned as a Superstar and wants a shot at the title.

Or, in correlation with recent rumors, maybe Nash is indeed the anonymous Raw General Manager, enraged by the fact that Triple H has robbed him of his control of the brand.

Honestly, all three possibilities seem viable to me, and I'd love to see any of them pan out. More surprises from Kevin Nash is just what the doctor ordered.

2. How Will Triple H Deal with Accidentally Screwing John Cena?

2 of 7

It was pretty clear that HHH had no intention of screwing Cena, shown by his expression of "oh snap I made a mistake" and clear disarray of the events unfolding. Triple H has been pretty finicky about his relationship with Cena. One second you think they're buds, next you think they're bitter rivals, and two seconds after you think the two are conspiring together.

So how will The Game handle accidentally screwing Cena over at SummerSlam? Maybe he'll pose a simple apology, or actually take action in reserving justice for John Cena, a guy who would do the same thing were he in H's position.

Or as a wildcard, perhaps Triple H doesn't give a damn and John Cena snaps as a result, taking matters into his own brutal, new, Orton-esque hands.

3. How Will Cena and Punk Respond to Recent Events?

3 of 7

In less than 24 hours, we'll be going from John Cena and CM Punk fighting over the WWE Championship, to Alberto Del Rio and Rey Mysterio fighting over the New Undisputed WWE Championship.

In the process, Cena was screwed over Christian-style (which I have to admit is pretty awesome to see), and Punk was decked out by Nash and cashed in on by Del Rio, losing the title he just won (and earning the record of shortest WWE Title reign).

Obviously, shifts and occurrences as dramatic as this will incite some type of response from either man, but how exactly will they respond? With violent outbursts, or diplomatic reasoning, towards which individuals?

4. Who's Walking out as WWE Champion?

4 of 7

Amidst the chaos, it may be forgotten that we still have planned yet ANOTHER content for the WWE Championship scheduled for Monday Night, which features two men recently exempt from the title scene. This raises yet another hot question: Who will leave Monday Night as WWE Champion? Obvious answers rest as either Del Rio or Mysterio, but there also lies a wildcard.

In an attempt to "redeem" himself for accidentally screwing Cena, and apologizing to Punk for being unfairly attacked by Nash and losing his title in the process, perhaps Triple H will include the two in the big title match on RAW.Or, he may just even declare the title vacant since the match ended with a mistake (something Triple H has shown little tolerance for), handing the titles back to Punk and Cena and restarting the match on RAW.

Hell, maybe Daniel Bryan will cash-in (not really). Quite frankly, there exists many ways this one can go down, aside from the obvious.

5. What Is Stephanie McMahon's Involvement?

5 of 7

Over the course of Summerslam, we saw a lot of Stephanie McMahon, who oddly enough played no role whatsoever in the main event. Her involvement could pan out in several different ways. For starers, Triple H and Steph seemed to be on completely different pages in the back before the main event. Did she incite the return of Kevin Nash after disagreements with her and H persisted?

Or maybe she will rebel against her husband in the future. On the contrary, perhaps we'll see the rebirth of the McMahon-Helmsley era that shaped the early 2000s of the WWE.

As for the wildcard option, could Stephanie possibly be having some sort of dealing or even sexual affair with John Cena, signified by her mysterious exiting of John Cena's personal dressing room?

Who knows with this crazy bi-uh, I mean, lady.

6. What Will Alberto Del Rio Talk About Now?

6 of 7

With his destiny finally fulfilled, what's Del Rio got to run his mouth about now?

Fulfilling his long awaited and anti-climatic destiny?

How good it feels to achieve this BS destiny?

What it takes to reach your destiny?

Why he deserved to reach his stupid destiny?

Or maybe he'll surprise us (that's a shocker) and begin actually delivering well-varied promos that defer from this abstract and boring concept of "destiny"! Who knows in this wacky world of the WWE!

And on that note...

Get Excited!

Yeah, get pumped! There's a lot of mystery going into RAW Monday Night, and a great show is all but completely guaranteed, as is further mystery and...conspiracy.

Pea soup.
