UFC on Versus 5 Results: 2 Fights That Make the Most Sense for Ben Henderson

Simply put, there are not many fights that make sense for Ben Henderson.

Jim Miller was fighting tonight for a No. 1 contender spot. Ben Henderson absolutely destroyed Miller.

Miller now has three losses in his career: to the champion, the No. 1 contender and the guy who could have been the No. 1 contender.

So here are the only two fights that I see that make sense for Ben Henderson.

Clay Guida

Clay Guida (29-11) was interviewed on Versus after the card, and he made it clear that he wanted to fight the winner of Edgar-Maynard.

He probably will not get that shot, as the UFC seems reluctant to let him fight for the title.

Obviously though, he deserves a No. 1 contender's match, as he beat the former No. 1 contender.

A matchup with Henderson, or a battle of the hair, as Guida said, would be an electrifying fight between two of the most relentless lightweights.

I know there's a lot of fights that are said to have fight of the year potential, but this one could deliver.

Their wrestling would counteract each other's, and they would just go at it for 15 minutes.

I'd actually give Henderson the edge too...

Loser of Edgar/ Maynard

This one is a lot less likely, but a slideshow with only one slide would have been pretty lazy right?

The only way I see this one happening would be if Guida suffered an injury and would be out for a while, and the UFC wouldn't want to keep the lightweight title inactive any longer.

The title has been the least defended of late, and the UFC would not want to keep it that way.

Should Guida get injured and be out for a long time, and they want to put the belt back up for grabs, expect Benderson to get the call to fight for that UFC belt.
