Stone Cold, Booker T and Six of the Greatest Brawls in WWE History

Petar AlavanjaJun 6, 2018

There is arguably no greater sight in professional wrestling to excite a crown than that of a wild brawl.

Since the introduction of the PG Era in the WWE, it appears that big all-in brawls or two stars in a feud brawling across an arena has been thrown out in favor of the heel hiding behind security or sprinting out of the ring at the nearest sight of danger.

Even in the recent episode of Raw where Kevin Nash was protected by security from CM Punk, imagine Punk fighting his way through the security to get his hands on Nash, that would have received a massive crowd reaction from those in attendance and at home.

For your enjoyment, here are six of the best brawls in the WWE from the last 10 years.

Team WWE vs. the Nexus on Raw

1 of 7

First off a more recent brawl. The Nexus storyline when it began was very intriguing and this brawl took place prior to Summerslam 2010. I like this one as it showed how bad ass the Nexus was even attacking heels in Chris Jericho, showing that they didn't care who was in front of them, they wanted to show they mean business.

The crowd went wild once Edge and Jericho returned to the ring and the brawl began, but the only problem I have with this one is that the Nexus ran away from the fight, which is often the case with heels nowadays in the WWE, but it wasn't really a good image for a team that was supposed to be full of guys who would do what they wanted to show they were for real.

Ric Flair and Triple H Prior to Taboo Tuesday and Survivor Series

2 of 7

This video is from two different brawls, but both show one thing. Violence. Watching Triple H and Flair go at it you really got the feeling that these two hated each other and wanted to really hurt each other, despite their history together.

Neither man backed down and fought all over the arena close to the crowd, a sight which is very rare in the WWE of today.

Team WWF vs. Team Alliance: Final Smackdown Before Survivor Series 2001

3 of 7

What made this brawl great was that it had every member of the Survivor Series main event run in and hit their finisher and leaving everybody except for Stone Cold on the floor.

It also showed the togetherness of all combatants involved as they helped their teammates despite tensions between Team WWE's Chris Jericho and The Rock, and Steve Austin and the rest of the Alliance members as it was believed that he would turn on them and realign himself with Vince McMahon.

The brawl itself was exciting, and with Stone Cold Steve Austin standing tall at the end of it all and smiling at Vince McMahon on the ramp, it really bought a level of excitement to the upcoming PPV, even if the Invasion storyline as a whole was a failure.

Stone Cold Steve Austin and Booker T Supermarket Brawl

After Booker T cost Stone Cold at chance at becoming Undisputed Champion, the Texas Rattlesnake took revenge. If you haven't seen this, you're not a real fan...

The Return of the "Old" Stone Cold

5 of 7

Stone Cold's return to the ring to open up a can of whoop ass on the Alliance prior to the Invasion PPV is in my opinion, one of the most memorable moments in WWE history.

After his heel turn at Wrestlemania X7, the Texas Rattlesnake began to show his soft side, which included singing to Mr. McMahon, a sight which would have once been thought impossible.

In the lead up to the Inaugural Brawl at Invasion, the threat posed by the WCW/ECW alliance was viewed as (maybe not to most fans) as a legitimate threat to the WWE. McMahon pleaded with Austin to return as the "old" Stone Cold, the hell-raising champion that he needed to fight off the Alliance.

Austin refused until this episode of Raw and the reaction of the crowd when his music hit was insane as Austin made his way to the ring to help the WWE guys after he kicked ass backstage.

Randy Orton and Legacy vs. HHH and the McMahons

6 of 7

This fight was part of one of the greatest build ups of all time to a Wrestlemania main event. After Orton and Legacy did their best to turn Triple H's life into a living hell, the then-WWE Champion couldn't wait to get his hands on his nemesis.

Along with the returning Shane and Vince McMahon, who had felt the wrath of Orton and his henchmen, HHH engaged in a classic brawl that closed Raw and had the crowd on their feet and cheering the entire time.

When Vince rolled his sleeves up and Triple H's music hit you could really feel like something big was about to happen, and unlike the Championship match at Wrestlemania 25, this confrontation did not disappoint. Apologies for the poor audio.

Thank You
