Tiki Barber and 3 Vets Who Should Retire Now and Spare Themselves Embarrassment
Tiki Barber hasn't played in the NFL since 2006.
Yet, for some reason, he thinks he can just hop right back into the mix and be an impact player.
After five years of sitting around not playing football, there's no way a reasonable person would think Barber could play again.
That's probably why no team has called him yet.
He should just end this comeback experiment and avoid any more embarrassment.
But, he's not alone.
Here are three veterans who should either retire now or stay retired.
3. Terrell Owens
1 of 3T.O. is still looking for work after a decent season with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2010.
It's become clear at this point that no playoff-caliber team will come calling for Owens' services.
Therefore, rather than playing for another floundering team like the Bengals, he should just hang up his spikes.
He doesn't need a repeat of his season with the Buffalo Bills.
2. Brett Favre
2 of 3Yes, Brett Favre is technically already retired.
But we all know Favre. As the season gets closer, he'll start to get the itch to play again.
Already this offseason, he's been linked in rumors to the Philadelphia Eagles and Miami Dolphins.
But hopefully he stays retired this time. Another year in the NFL would just be sad for Favre.
1. Tiki Barber
3 of 3Once again, Barber has been out of the NFL for five years!
Five years is longer than the prime of most running backs' careers.
There's no way Barber can be of any value to an NFL team.
If some team is stupid enough to sign him, it'll be a waste of money.
The first time he sees live action, he'll probably get hurt anyway.
He should just stick to reporting on games.
