Baltimore Sun Writer Added to WWE's Creative Division Staff

George NolanJun 7, 2018

Figure Four Weekly and ProWrestling.Net have reported today that Baltimore Sun blogger Kevin Eck has received a position as a writer of WWE's creative division which he will start at the end of the month from the company's headquarters in Greenwich, Connecticut.

To those not familiar with Eck, he was a long-time sports editor for the Baltimore Sun and had his own blog on the Baltimore Sun's web site since 2007 called Ring Posts where he covered his thoughts on news within the pro wrestling industry. He also worked as an editor for WCW magazine starting from 1999 up to the company's closing in 2001.

Eck acknowledged the news of his departure from the Sun on his Ring Posts blog today where he recalled his times of writing on the pro wrestling industry and thanking those who read his blog. Here is a bit of what Eck said in his blog:

"

It’s a bittersweet time for me to say the least. While I am very excited to be going to work for the professional wrestling industry leader – which also happens to be a company that I have been passionate about since I was 6 years old – saying goodbye to a place where I have so much history is extremely difficult.

"

While I wish Eck good luck in his future endeavors, I do hope he doesn't become a victim of the WWE's harsh treatment of their creative staff as horror stories regarding being a staff member have popped up in recent years. Stories coming from former members of the creative staff have claimed that good writing and knowledge of the wrestling industry doesn't always put you into good graces with the influential leaders within the company.

What do you fellow Bleachers think of Ecks now being a part of WWE's creative staff?
