2011 NFL Rankings: Which Offenses Will Keep Defenders Up at Night?

Jun 4, 2018

Most experts say that defense wins championships in the NFL, but there is nothing scarier to a defensive coordinator than having to face a potent offense with multiple weapons.

The NFL this season has some of the most dangerous offenses loading up with even more weapons, and defensive coaches everywhere are cringing.

While most of the NFL is solid on offense, there are three teams that are far and above the best, and these teams will haunt players and coaches for weeks ahead of time.

Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons are the most dangerous offensive team in the NFL because they have different weapons to beat any defender in the league.

With receivers like rookie Julio Jones and veteran Roddy White, quarterback Matt Ryan has the kind of targets teams dream about.

While the receivers are top notch, it’s the safety valve of having a Hall of Famer like Tony Gonzalez at tight end that makes the passing game even better.

What defenses can’t forget about is the potent running game from Michael Turner that opens the passing game up, and vice-versa.

Philadelphia Eagles

After all of the offseason acquisitions for the Philadelphia Eagles, the already dangerous offense added more depth and skill to the roster.

With former Miami Dolphins star running back Ronnie Brown and enigmatic quarterback Vince Young added to the stew of offensive juggernauts, the result will be amazing.

The Eagles already had one of the top five quarterbacks in the NFL with Mike Vick, but the questions about his durability have been answered with a very competent backup in VY.

As for the weapons Philadelphia boasts, receivers like DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin and Jason Avant, along with running back LeSean McCoy, and these toys for Vick to play with are the best in the league.

Green Bay Packers

Last but not least is the defending Super Bowl Champions, the Green Bay Packers, and their ridiculous offense.

For those who doubted if Aaron Rodgers was the right choice as the face of the franchise, ask his ability to thread the needle or put the team on his back when it matters if it was the right choice.

The Packers still have a plethora of stellar wide receivers like Greg Jennings, Donald Driver and James Jones to go along with top-five tight end Jermichael Finley, and Rodgers will always be happy with a group that potent.

What was lost in their run to the Super Bowl was the solid play of running back James Starks, but now the team has Starks and veteran Ryan Grant. With the receiver and running back weapons, the Packers have to be expected to make another big splash this season
