Kansas City Chiefs 2011 Preseason Schedule: Full Preview
Well, it's that time of the year again.
Time to bust out your footballs and get ready for yet another exciting NFL season.
The Kansas City Chiefs are just two days away from their first preseason game of the '11 season, and the mood couldn't be any better coming out of 1 Arrowhead Drive.
The team is coming off of a 10-6 season, where they advanced to the playoffs for the first time in four years.
Here is an in-depth preview at the Chiefs' upcoming preseason schedule.
Game 1: vs. Tampa Bay
1 of 4When: August 12th, 7:00 PM CDT
Where: Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City, MO
What to Watch For: How the Chiefs will respond in their first live game action since January.
It will be very interesting to see how the team's new rookies do in their debut and how well the defense performs against Bucs QB Josh Freeman and their talented young offense.
All eyes will also be on rookie receiver Jonathan Baldwin and if he can make an immediate impact in his first game with his new team.
Game 2: At Baltimore
2 of 4When: August 19th, 6:30 PM CDT
Where: M&T Bank Stadium, Baltimore, MD
What to Watch For: How the Chiefs do against an experienced team that blew them out back in January.
The Ravens are known for one thing, and that is their great defense that they have had over the last 10 years.
Matt Cassel and the KC offense was exposed to that great defense in the teams' meeting during the playoffs last season, and it didn't end well for the Chiefs.
Kansas City will look to buck that trend this year when they face the Ravens in week three of the preseason up in Baltimore.
Game 3: vs. St. Louis
3 of 4When: August 26th, 7:00 PM CDT
Where: Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City, MO
What to Watch For: How KC does against another young, hungry team.
In a game against their in-state rivals, the Chiefs will once again see another talented, young QB in Rams' signal caller Sam Bradford and a youthful receiving corps as well.
They will need to shut down Bradford and St. Louis's pass rush, which is led by former first-round pick Chris Long, in order to come out of this game with a win.
Game 4: At Green Bay
4 of 4When: September 1st, 7:00 PM CDT
Where: Lambeau Field, Green Bay, Wisconsin
What to Watch For: If the Chiefs can play well against the defending Super Bowl champs and their high-powered passing attack.
This game should be one of the most exciting games that KC will have this preseason, considering that the starters will likely play most of the contest.
Plus, everyone knows about last year's Super Bowl MVP QB Aaron Rodgers and what he can do to opposing defenses.
KC will have to try to find a way to slow him down if they want to make this a game on the road.
