2011 PGA Championship: Best Quotes from Tuesday's Press Conferences

Some of the best swings happen in the interview room.  Here is a sample of some of the quips from Tuesday's press conferences at the PGA Championship. 

This year's tournament has some story-lines that will make the four-day marathon a most memorable event. The caddie war of words started after the WGC Bridgestone.  And, it will continue today as Tiger Woods gets to tell his tale.  Did Stevie Williams step over the line?  Can Adam Scott ignore the furor to continue his strong play?

From Adam Scott, to Lee Westwood, to Bubba Watson, the words start flowing and as Adam Scott said, "We will let our clubs talk the rest of the week."  Will they?

This tournament may wind up getting more publicity for what was said, than what was hit.

Lee Westwood said it....

When asked about how much he deadlifted last week, Lee Westwood quipped, "354 pounds, a Chubby and a quarter."

Putting a context on his amazing feat of strength was his non-slender agent, Andrew "Chubby" Chandler.

Lee Westwood said it...

"No, you lift it up and then you bend from your waist, basically, to strengthen your hamstrings and your glutes. Your glutes is your butt."

When asked about his ability to resurect his career using a controversial long belly putter,

"But, you know, it’s within the rules at the moment, and I’m very happy about that."

"He's not that cool."

"I thought there was no relevance to the interview, other than to get a good dig at Tiger Woods in the ribs, putting him on TV."

Since Westwood has asked for help from noted sports psychologist, Dr. Bob Rotella, he was asked about his European friend Darren Clarke's influence on his decision.  He said,

"Darren is a good one to consult with regards to which psychologist would be the best, having been through all of them pretty much."
