Wisconsin Football: Kyle Dodson Is Wisconsin's Best Recruit for 2012

Offensive linemen may not get the same hype as quarterbacks, receivers or even kickers, but Kyle Dodson is the most important pick-up for Wisconsin.

This guy is unbelievable. He stands at 6' 6", weighing 315 lbs. In various footage, you can see that Dodson has a knack for making the right tackles to create plays.

He is a guy that pass rushers don't want to face. Such a huge gain for the Badgers.

Dodson, who grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, has been a Buckeye fan his entire life. He made a deal with Jim Tressel that a scholarship to Ohio State would be waiting for him once Dodson received his ACT scores. It is speculated that the current turbulence at Ohio State, as well as the resignation of Jim Tressel, made Wisconsin a much better option .

Regardless of the circumstances, if Kyle Dodson's goal is to make it to the NFL, Wisconsin is going to make that happen. Bob Bostad, the offensive line coach that every school wants, is the perfect man that can mold Dodson into an NFL-caliber player. Bostad has made a name for himself with over twenty years experience at coordinating offensive lineman. 

Dodson is also perfect for the Big Ten brand of football. Imposing defensive lines are the norm, and you need an imposing offensive line to make a play. He is just the man for the job and will be the unsung Most Valuable Player on Wisconsin's roster.

What this contributor finds even more impressive is that Kyle is from Cleveland Heights High School. I graduated from Heights in 1998, and back then—and even today—our football program was nothing to toast about. Heights has always been better known for their basketball, soccer and hockey teams. I believe the last .500 season for Heights football was 2004.

Nevertheless, at Wisconsin, Kyle will have much better talent to work with.
