Monsters News: Lake Erie’s T.J. Hensick Shines in AHL All-Star Classic

The Lake Erie Monsters, fresh off a one-year anniversary in existence in Cleveland, sent one player to the AHL All-Star Classic in Binghamton, New York for Monday’s game.

Too bad they didn’t send two.

While PlanetUSA lost in a shootout to the Canadian AHL All-Stars, Lake Erie’s very own Hensick scored two goals and notched two assists, leading the USA squad in points for the evening.

Hensick, a rookie, represented himself and the Monsters in grand fashion.

The Monsters season resumes Thursday, Jan. 31 against the San Antonio Rampage. Lake Erie has been playing great hockey as of late and has made significant progress in catching the teams in front of them in their division.

They also play the same San Antonio team on Friday. Fridays are dollar hot dog and one dollar Pepsi nights for the Monsters. Best to see the Monsters and Hensick while you can, as T.J. has already been called up to the parent club Colorado Avalanche and one day will end up staying there. He is a talent you shouldn’t miss while he’s in Cleveland.
