6 Most Probable Hall of Famers on the Current Kansas City Royals Roster

Bill RobbinsJun 7, 2018

With yet another Kansas City Royals season starting to slip away, it's time to start looking at more forward-looking pieces.

An interesting topic to cover is who can make the MLB Hall of Fame from each team's current roster.

The Royals currently have many intriguing prospects, including two-time All-Star closer Joakim Soria and 21-year-old first baseman Eric Hosmer.

Here are the six current Royals that have the best shot at making a speech at Cooperstown later down the road.

Eric Hosmer

1 of 6

Hosmer is arguably the most talented player that the Royals currently possess on their active roster.

The former first-round draft pick took only three years to make his big league debut earlier this season, and he hasn't disappointed in the majors.

He has excellent power, good patience and is a Gold Glove caliber defensive first baseman.

If he can play up to his potential in the coming years, he will easily be in the MLB Hall of Fame someday.

Billy Butler

2 of 6

Butler has been the team's most consistent hitter over the past five seasons.

Although his power numbers still aren't there yet, he has already picked up over 700 hits in his young big league career.

Right now, he is on pace to be right around 3,000 by his late 30's.

Regardless of his power ever coming around, Butler has a solid chance to make the HOF if he can maintain his lifetime batting average of .297 and get around 180 hits per season for the rest of his career.

Mike Moustakas

3 of 6

The 22-year-old Moustakas has been one of the most talked about prospects that the Royals have had in a long time.

His power potential is through the roof, as he still holds the California state high school record for HRs in a season with 24 in his senior season back in 2007.

In his two months with the big league club this season, he has hit only one homer and his batting .185, but the potential is still there for Moose.

I see him making a big adjustment next season and eventually challenging former Royal Steve Balboni's team home run record, which will show off the kind of power that could lead him to the HOF down the line.

Aaron Crow

4 of 6

Crow is a great talent, and his story of how he has been successful with the Royals this season is even greater.

The former University of Missouri star was picked by the Royals in the first round of the '08 MLB Draft, only to see himself get demoted a year later to Single-A ball.

After an impressive spring training, the Royals decided to let him on the team, and he has pitched his way to his first All-Star selection this season.

Many believe that he will be moved to the starting rotation next year, and this could potentially be the next big step in a great career for the young Royals' reliever.

Joakim Soria

5 of 6

Soria has the best chance out of any of these guys at making the HOF someday.

He is already becoming one of the best closers in team history, and if he can keep pitching like he has, he will be considered one of the best in MLB history as well.

He has over 150 saves in less than five ML seasons, while putting together an outstanding 2.32 career ERA during that time.

The Royals are lucky to still have him, and he could become the franchise's first pitcher to make the Hall of Fame when it's all said and done.

Johnny Giavotella

6 of 6

Newly called-up second baseman Johnny Giavotella just barely made this list, but don't let that fool you.

He is one of the most underrated prospects that the Royals have in their No. 1 ranked farm system, and has already shown why after picking up two hits in his first major league game and making a great play on defense in the Royals' contest with Tampa Bay on Monday night.

He has already drawn comparisons to future Hall of Fame second baseman Craig Biggio for his gritty style of play and his consistent bat on offense.

If he is anything like Biggio, he will definitely be enshrined in Cooperstown in the future.
