CM Punk: Would a WWE Title Win at SummerSlam Be Too Predictable?
The stage was set last Monday for the summer's biggest party: SummerSlam. CM Punk, WWE Champion, and John Cena, also WWE Champion, will square off in a title unification match.
When fans heard this match they immediately thought, another Cena vs. Punk match? Yes, it is another Cena vs. Punk match, but many feel that the outcome would be too predictable.
With the rate that CM Punk is gaining momentum, crowd reception and merchandise sales, it seems only a fool would book him to lose at SummerSlam. However, there are those people who bring up the argument that the WWE always attempts to put over Cena to help carry the brand for the majority audience, kids.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
I feel that slowly but surely, the fan base landscape is changing. Many of us were closet fans after the PG Era rolled around. It wasn't like the old days where we could defend our heroes like Stone Cold, Undertaker, The Rock, Triple H, HBK, etc.
In this era, everything was cleaned up for the kids and Super Cena paraded around with different colored "Fruity Pebble" T-shirts.
Since CM Punk dropped that promo, he got the WWE buzzing. Friends and people I follow on Twitter all were commenting on the situation. They were comparing that moment to Austin's 3:16 moment way back when.
So it is blatantly obvious that CM Punk is hot right now and that is for good reason. I can see three scenarios for how the main event would end.
1. CM Punk earns clean win and Alberto Del Rio attempts to cash in MITB.
If John Cena is going to lose, using the logic of creative, they want Punk to lose some momentum as well. I can see ADR attempt to cash in but get involved in a beat down. This would be a failed opportunity, but it would change the face of this rivalry.
I mean, how long can we expect ADR to square off with mid carders while parading around with his MITB brief case?
2. John Cena wins clean.
This is almost the story line of every major Cena match with an exception of few. Cena is viewed as the top moneymaker in WWE. He is the top dog and the higher ups attempt to put him over as much as possible. I feel this could derail some of what CM Punk has earned through his marvelous promos but we all know how "Creative" works.
3. CM Punk retains by disqualification and defeats Cena in a rematch on Raw the following night.
This is a wild card thought of mine. CM Punk wants to remain champion at all costs. Since both are the champion, a DQ would involve a double retention. However, Triple H could call for a rematch on Raw.
That would be a huge main event that could go 30-45 minutes and could be a major draw. It could be similar to how HBK and Cena fought after their match at WrestleMania 23.
I want CM Punk to be the champion when all is said and done. He represents the small glimmer of hope in a return of the "Attitude Era" or something slightly resembling that.
He is the heel that everyone loves to cheer and he is finally being used in a prominent role.
However, the question I pose to you, the fans, the same fans who #wantwrestling, would a CM Punk win at SummerSlam be predictable?
Wrestling is for the fans and we have a voice. We want wrestling and I feel this is a great way to air out some ideas.
