Arsenal Transfer Rumours: Alex Chamberlain, Cahill, Dann and Campbell
Last week, Arsene Wenger said:
“It’s all kinds of things you meet during the transfer market. But I can understand the impatience of people. We hope to give you some good news soon. Next week, something might happen.”
I was expecting one signing. Someone decent, but I wasn't sure who.

Now, everywhere I go I am reading that Arsene has at least three deals lined up, and we all know the Chamberlain deal is pretty much done, as he is having a medical today.
Joel Campbell will probably sign, simply because youngsters tend to sign for Arsenal over anyone. You can ask Aaron Ramsey that. On the other hand, you could ask Cristiano Ronaldo.
And as for Gary Cahill, "sources" close to the club have revealed we are close to signing him and that it should be completed in the next few days, but "sources" aren't always that reliable.
And our Steve Rowley was at Bolton's last friendly. It does show good signs, but doesn't show that a deal is imminent.
But then I also saw that another "deal" that various "sources" are also reporting is that we have been closely watching the developments of Scott Dann.
I have mixed opinions on Dann.
He was part of that Birmingham defence that were unbeatable at home a few seasons ago, but he has never been a defender who stands out from the rest.
I suppose this is a good thing, as this means a cheaper price. I've seen £6-7 million been thrown about as his value, so it's perfect for Arsene's chequebook.
But the three "deals" most likely are Chamberlain, Campbell and Cahill, with the latter being the only deal that I have doubt about.
I would be happy with these deals, and for the fact Arsene finally pulled his finger out and made a move for Cahill, because if he is paying more than £10 million for Oxlade-Chamberlain, £17 million is perfectly reasonable for Gary Cahill.
But if what I'm reading about all four of these deals will be done is true, then I will be a very happy Gooner.
Two centre backs, both English, a winger, English, and a highly talented future 30-goals-a-season Costa Rican striker.
Sounds good.
And also, the whole 25-man home-grown thing will be helped by the signings of Chamberlain, Cahill and possibly Dann.
Let's hope these deals happen.
