Terrelle Pryor: 5 Teams That Should Sign the Former Buckeyes Quarterback
Obviously, Terrelle Pryor can't do anything until he gets cleared for the Supplemental Draft.
There's a lot that needs to happen before then, but if we fast-forward past all that and look ahead, there are a few teams who could use Pryor's services.
Pryor was a star at Ohio State, yet he never reached his full potential.
He still has room to grow, and could do that in the NFL if his attitude gets adjusted.
Here are five teams that could benefit from signing Terrelle Pryor.
5. Washington Redskins
1 of 5A John Beck/Rex Grossman quarterback battle doesn’t exactly inspire hope in a team’s fanbase.
Taking a flier on Pryor wouldn’t cost the Redskins too much and would add even more competition to the QB battle.
He has the potential to bring more to the table than either Beck or Grossman. He can run and he has a big arm.
If he shows accuracy and poise in the NFL, he could be a good starting QB for years to come.
4. San Francisco 49ers
2 of 5The 49ers still aren’t willing to give up on Alex Smith.
Since they signed him through this season, it might be time to start looking at a QB to replace him if he tanks again this year.
Signing Pryor and trying to prepare him to be a starting QB in 2012 would be a good move by the 49ers.
3. Seattle Seahawks
3 of 5Tarvaris Jackson? Really?
There’s a reason the Vikings gave up on him so many times. The guy just isn’t going to be a good NFL QB.
But the Seahawks appear to be stuck with him for 2011.
Maybe they should sign Pryor and let him learn the ropes. After all, he plays a similar style to Jackson.
Only, Pryor’s potential is much greater than Jackson’s ever was.
2. Buffalo Bills
4 of 5Ryan Fitzpatrick is a decent quarterback, but he’s not going to take the team to the next level.
Pryor might not be that guy either, but he’s worth a shot.
The Bills’ current backup QBs, Brian Brohm and Tyler Thigpen, aren’t going to be stars in the NFL.
Pryor at least has that potential.
1. Miami Dolphins
5 of 5The Dolphins clearly don’t want Chad Henne for the long-term.
Otherwise, there wouldn’t be rumors about them trading for Kyle Orton or signing Brett Favre.
Pryor also has a skill-set that might go well with a Wildcat-style offense. At the very least, they could sign him and let him run the Wildcat now that Ronnie Brown is gone.
