TNA Hardcore Justice: What's Next for Sting After Losing the TNA World Title?
Just moments ago, “The Insane Icon” Sting lost the TNA World Heavyweight Championship to Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle.
For months the Stinger has been on a crusade to take down Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff, and to him, having the title meant he was winning. Now that he no longer has the title, will Sting continue to fight Immortal? Of course he will, but will he have the power over them that he did when he was champion? I don’t think so.
Sting will continue to fight the good fight, but Immortal still has strength in numbers. Sting does have Fortune to back him up, and with their victory against Immortal in the six-man tag match, the stable may be stronger than ever.
I had worries that Fortune was in jeopardy since A.J. Styles defeated Christopher Daniels at Destination X. After that happened, they’ve been having “talks,” and didn’t seem like the cohesive unit they used to be.
However, Fortune maybe be down a member because Daniels was put through a table. With Daniels potentially out of the picture momentarily, Kurt Angle could fill that void, but after what happened I doubt it.
To win the match, Kurt Angle cracked Sting in the back with a steel chair before hitting the Angle Slam. Unless Angle’s challenger at No Surrender is a member of Immortal, there’s no way Sting and Angle would be on the same page.
I can see Sting getting his rematch at No Surrender, but Immortal will cost him the victory. That will lead to what some have been waiting for, but others have been dreading: Sting vs. Hulk Hogan at Bound for Glory.
So what’s next for the Insane Icon? Exactly what he’s been doing since he returned in March, trying to get Hogan and Bischoff out of power. In doing so, bringing Dixie Carter back to work.
