Steve Williams Video: Watch Proud Caddie Diss Tiger Woods

Ryan RudnanskyJun 6, 2018

This was the first golf tournament caddie Steve Williams was a part of since he was fired by Tiger Woods after 13 years of being together.

It was also Woods' return to the golf course after rehabilitating injuries to his left leg and being forced to skip this year's U.S. Open and British Open.

So when Williams guided Aussie Adam Scott to a win at the WGC Bridgestone Invitational on Sunday and Woods faltered, there was bound to be some drama, not just from the media and fans, but from Williams himself.

Interviewed after the big win, Williams proceeded:

"

"There's a lot being said this week and it's an incredible feeling to back it up. I always back myself up.

"Honestly, that's the best week of my life. I've caddied for 33 years now, 145 wins now, and that's the best win I've ever had."

"

Upon his release from Woods' employment, Williams released a statement on his official website before the Bridgestone Invitational, reading, "After 13 years of loyal service needless to say this came as a shock. Given the circumstances of the past 18 months working through Tiger's scandal, a new coach and with it a major swing change and Tiger battling through injuries, I am very disappointed to end our very successful partnership at this time."

He also said, via Yahoo! Sports, "You could say I've wasted the last two years of my life. I've stuck with Tiger and been incredibly loyal."

While Woods tried to downplay his decision, saying he just thought it was best for a change, Williams undoubtedly didn't take it so kindly.

There are two constants in Woods' life right now: burning bridges and not being able to move forward even when he tries to.

While Woods appeared more personable talking after his final round on Sunday, he was still running from his demons as he has been for the last year and a half.

Williams didn't need to rub it in, but he sure did.
