Liverpool Schedule 2011-2012: Complete Listing for Premier League Fixtures

The Kopites are coming! The Kopites are coming!

As is the case every year, football fans in Merseyside are gearing up for an exciting English Premier League season as their beloved Liverpool finish up their preseason warm-up prelude to the 2011-12 campaign.

This year figures to be a particularly interesting one at Anfield. With Kenny Dalglish at the helm for his first full tour since returning to active duty in January, the Reds will look to not only improve upon last year's disappointing sixth-place finish in the Premiership, but also but the ill-fated and short-lived Roy Hodgson era firmly in their rear-view.

Of course, there is still much for Liverpool to sort out with their lineup. Dalglish and director of football Damien Comolli have spent in excess of £105 million on transfers since the turn of the calendar to 2011, though to be fair, that exorbitant sum is somewhat mitigated by the £50 million the club coaxed out of Chelsea for Fernando Torres during the last winter transfer window.

Luis Suarez, Torres' de facto replacement at striker, may not be ready for the start of the EPL schedule after expending so much energy in guiding Uruguay to victory at the Copa America and earning Player of the Tournament honors for himself.

Dalglish need also determine how best to work in his high-priced acquisitions, including midfielders Charlie Adam and Jordan Henderson, winger Stewart Downing and defender Jose Enrique.

Similarly, the Kop hierarchy must still decide whether they're even done making moves before the summer transfer window slams shut on August 31.

Clearly, there will be plenty going on, both on and off the pitch, to keep Kopites keen to their club's exploits from now into March and beyond.
