WWE Releases Melina and Others, Will Not Miss Them
Honestly, let's be real here folks.
Yesterday, the internet was blowing up over the releases of a few WWE performers and one that was rumored to have quit.
Seriously, let's all take a deep breath now, 24 hours later, and let me tell you my thoughts on the firings.

My first thought was, "Well, I called the Melina firing JUST TWO days ago."
No big deal there.
My list focused on people with TV time, and she was a no-brainer to me. Those leaving comments used every excuse in the book to keep her around.
The sad reality is that she brought nothing to the table in 2011, and, outside of a few times the past year, she has not even been on TV.
How am I supposed to miss someone that isn't on TV?
I can't, and I won't.
Chris Master was let go ... again! This one pains me a little bit because he has turned himself into a pretty good in-ring performer. If you do not believe me, I dare you to look up his work on Superstars the past couple months.
The old Master from 2005 is no more. The man can now work.
Sadly though, he just did not fit in anywhere. I thought he would get some TV time on Smackdown a few months ago when Edge went down, but nothing came of it.
He had two strikes against him and never really connected with the audience. He sold no merch and brought in zero dollars for the company.
See ya Chris!
Koslov was let go ... and I thought I cared for a second or two but didn't. I think he would have done great decades ago—Russian heel, brawler, big muscles.
Nowadays though, the crowd reacted poorly to his heel run—when he beat Taker clean in 2009 I nearly passed out.
In 2011, he was a joke with Santino. He even got bumped off Mania if I remember correctly.
The writing had been on the wall for awhile. Again, if you aren't around, how can I miss seeing you every week? The "Double Double E" will be just fine.
DH Smith was cut ... again. Wasn't he released three years ago as well? Or did he just fail a drug test and get taken off of TV during his little Raw run as a solo performer?
Either way, as great as his dad was, he himself never brought anything to the table.
Some will whine and cry over this loss, but they are just so fixated on the "He is Bulldog's son!" thought and never get past it.
On his own, he was a jobber. With Tyson he was okay, but Tyson is a great young heel and needs to be on his own.
No more carrying the dead weight ... sorry David!
It is rumored Gail Kim quit. Again, why should I care? Because she was great eight years ago? Because in TNA she and Kong tore it up? Okay ... I guess.
But again, this is 2011. If I wanted to see her face Trish or some of her TNA matches, I would search YouTube and/or pop in old DVDs.
As great as she is, the facts are simple. She took the money a couple years ago to return to the WWE. Nobody forced her to turn down TNA's big offer of $300 per show. She came back for the money, and she got paid. She did not return to put on great matches; anyone expecting that is just an idiot.
Yeah.
Also, she did poor business on Monday. She rolled out of the battle royal on her own, walked to the back, and quit (rumored).
That is unprofessional.
I do not care how you are being pushed; I do not care how much you're featured.
You were getting paid.
Your checks weren't bouncing. Do your job like a professional. Kozlov likely knew he was gone and what happened? He got squashed by Mark Henry like a man who was gone.
I am sure most will defend Gail and her actions from Monday, but they were very disgusting actions.
Shame on her.
Good luck in TNA in 90 days.
In conclusion, if anyone can tell me how any of those departures cost a single cent to the WWE's bottom line, I would love to hear it.
If not, what did WWE lose?
Nothing.
