UFC 133 Results: Live Commentary and Epic Analysis from Philadelphia

Dale De SouzaJun 7, 2018

It seemed improbable and maybe even a tad ridiculous when Tito Ortiz walked out to the cage for UFC 132 for his bout with Ryan Bader.

Many thought Bader was going to put the final nail in the coffin of Ortiz's career, and the few that thought Bader would lose somehow must've thought Bader was supposed to beat Jon "Bones" Jones because they all of a sudden felt Bader lost his mojo and would not get it back in the fight with Tito.

In any event, Tito Ortiz did pull off a fascinating upset over Ryan Bader, and 24 hours after it was reported that Tito turned down the chance to take a rematch with "Suga" Rashad Evans, Tito finally opted to take the fight as a replacement for Phil Davis.

Now, Ortiz and Evans will collide in a clash that might likely decide who gets the potential next shot at either Jones or Quinton "Rampage" Jackson.

Speaking of potential shots, Yoshihiro Akiyama has been seen at the 185-pound version of Japan's answer to Chris Lytle, and he's still got the potential to become a major player if he can do what few have done and beat Vitor Belfort.

Likewise, Vitor Belfort has a potential shot to get back into title contention with a victory over Akiyama, but for all the positive potentials, the negative potentials exist as well.

Akiyama could potentially be cut from the promotion with a loss, with the obvious wild-card being his performance, but for Belfort, a convincing loss of any kind could raise the question of whether Belfort is the UFC Middleweight division's next gatekeeper.

Rounding out the main card are two welterweight bouts—an intriguing Dennis Hallman vs. Brian Ebersole collision and a prospect vs. prospect-killer throwdown between Rory MacDonald and Mike "Quicksand" Pyle—and Jorge Rivera's date with up-and-coming Constantinos Philippou.

It's all going down here at UFC 133 in Philadelphia, and B/R MMA will have your live breaking coverage of tonight's card from the first fight of the night until the main event of the evening!
