UFC 133 Fight Card: Weigh-In Results and Reactions

Jordy McElroyJun 7, 2018

All 22 fighters took the scales on Friday at the official weigh-ins for "UFC 133: Evans vs. Ortiz.

The headliner features the grudge match between former light heavyweight champions Rashad Evans and Tito Ortiz.

The two first met in July 2007 at UFC 73, where the judges ruled the contest a draw after a point was deducted from Ortiz in the second round for grabbing the fence.

After that bout, Evans continued to improve his game and went on to become a world champion.

"I know everyone will want my autograph when I walk into the stands," said Evans, who was greeted with a chorus of boos. "It's been a long time, 14 months. I been working and getting better, and I can't wait to show the fans what I got."

Once considered the top light heavyweight in the sport, Ortiz is currently in the midst of his own Cinderella Man story. At UFC 132, he picked up his first win in nearly five years by upsetting top-10 light heavyweight Ryan Bader.

A win over Evans would be monumental for Ortiz's career, and it could earn him another shot at the UFC title.

"I feel great. I'm excited to take this fight. I thank Dana for the opportunity," Ortiz said. "Rashad is a great fighter, but I'm going to prove I'm the better fighter tomorrow night."

In the co-main event, former title contender Vitor Belfort meets Judo specialist Yoshihiro Akiyama. While Belfort hopes to return to his winning ways after getting crushed by Anderson Silva, Akiyama wants to avoid a third straight loss, which could lead to his UFC dismissal.

UFC 133 takes place on Saturday at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The pay-per-view will air live at 9 p.m. ET. Spike TV will broadcast a pair of free preliminary bouts at 8 p.m. ET. The rest of the undercard will stream live on the UFC's Facebook page at 5:45 p.m. ET.
