Keith Richardson "The Rock Star of MMA" Makes His Featherweight Pro Debut

Some people climb mountains, some people climb hills. “The Rock Star” is climbing mountains in the professional MMA world.

Richardson, who is (4-2) as a pro, will headline Fight Lab 16 in the main event this Saturday August 6^th, 2011 at the NC Music Factory.

Richardson will be fighting John Owen (8-2). Richardson is a former Marine and took the combat skills he learned while in the Marines and transformed them into a powerful and successful MMA career.

Maybe the Rock Star of MMA should have the walk-out song “You Win Again” by Rock Star Keith Richards played when he comes out to the cage.

Richardson trains with Team Hayastan-IMB as well as being a new owner of Modern Warrior MMA with Pat Sweet. As if that were not enough he is a student and works, while training full-time. When I first saw “The Rock Star” fight live, I was left with the wow factor.

Richardson has fought some tough opponents and will only continue to do so. That is the way he wants it. He says he will not take the easy way out or fight someone that will not be a challenge.

Richardson started training in 2007, fought for the first time in 2008 and has not looked back since. He brings with him a loyal and dedicated fan base that always make their presence known. This will be his debut at Featherweight, and he feels that with his Gorilla like strength and well rounded skill set, this will be a win/win situation for him.

Richardson credits the Marines for helping him get his start in MMA and explains that the brotherhood experience that he shared with his fellow Marines, is one he also shares with his MMA teammates. 

Richardson feels that he is well versed, well rounded in all areas of MMA, plus has a very powerful and profound ground game that will rock his opponent, and will help him to have a successful debut in his new division. Richardson is not one to talk a lot of sh*t and likes to get in the cage and handle his business like a man. Such a combination of deadly BJJ, a former state champion in wrestling and a team that helps him train to be the best can only lead him to great things in his MMA career. 

He has it all…the skills, the personality and the support to make it to the top. “The Rock Star” has  high ambitions of fighting for the UFC in the future and with every fight from now until that time will be one to keep your eye on. Richardson feels he could make a big impact in the UFC and will do whatever it takes to achieve his goal.
