"The Sniper" Ricky Rainey Makes Professional MMA Debut 8/6/11, Charlotte, NC

Ricky Rainey is a well rounded fighter who targets his victims from concealed positions and has the ability to destroy them from distances exceeding the capabilities of regular MMA fighters. “The Sniper” will look to do just that to his opponent John Constantatos.

“The Sniper,” who is 5-0 as an amateur, has been training with Renegade Boxing for over two years. He feels that his stand up is his strong suit, but is well prepared and trains in all aspects of MMA. His professional debut will be in the 185 lb division.

He is comfortable and confident with his game plan, which is to follow directives from his coach Phil Wills, come on strong with striking and work those fast hands and feet. He feels that his opponent will try to take him down from the start, but as any good sniper would do, he is ready for anything at anytime.

He has experience in wrestling and Tae Kwon Do, and is learning new skills that will help him to be successful in his future endeavors in MMA.

Rainey, who is a graduate of Western Carolina University, played football in college and made the transition into MMA, which, as his record shows, has worked out well for him. He fights with passion and dedication and always gives 110 percent. 

He is also wonderful to interview. This young man is here to stay. He will start by leaving his mark on the Carolina’s and then will be a force to dealt with as his professional career evolves. Rainey is a very polite and well spoken gentleman out of the cage, but when he steps into the cage, he really does go into sniper mode. His opponent better be on point this Saturday as Rainey marks his territory in the history book of professional MMA.
