Thanks to Moss, Owens & Ochocinco: NFL's "Diva Wide Receiva Era" Transitioning
The NFL's current "Diva Wide Receiva Era" is transitioning.
In addition to future Hall of Fame WR Randy Moss announcing his retirement this week, other wide-mouthed wide-outs are making football headlines.
Moss' news, coupled with Braylon Edwards' release by the Jets, Brandon Marshall's personality disorder confession, Terrell Owens' lingering knee injury and Chad Ochocinco's metamorphosis into a buttoned-up New England Patriot, may signal the end of the current narcissistic "Diva Wide Receiva Era" in the NFL.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Most NFL fans will miss Moss' and Owens' tantalizing talent, Edwards' and Marshall's raw athleticism and Ochocinco's speed and elusiveness. But, let's face it.
Who is really going to miss the boorish behavior, petty pouting, childish on-field antics and tiresome, off-field self-promotion of these football divas?
Moss will be officially retired, Edwards will be quickly acquired, Marshall will be sadly mired in his own personal struggle and Owens will likely be rewired in a broadcast booth with other mouthy men with microphones. Retired players like Keyshawn Johnson, Michael Irvin and Chris Carter, those "Wide Receiva Divas from a Distant Era."
However, a true "Diva Wide Receiva" can't shun the spotlight for long. So, expect a new crop of eager, egotistical split ends to jump up, demand the ball and seek to monopolize center stage. The NFL draft ironically guarantees an annual supply of new, narcissistic divas to facilitate this trumped up tradition.
NFL helmets will never be able to harness the hubris of the "Diva Wide Receiva" mentality. Current self-absorbed NFL wide-outs like Dez Bryant, DeSean Jackson, Devin Hester and Santonio Holmes will feel obligated to carry on the vainglorious diva tradition now left in limbo by Ochocinco's anticipated quieting, Edwards' and Marshall's humbling and Moss' and Owens' departing.
These would be divas won't ever be able to leave their marks of excellence and professionalism on the field like NFL All-Pro WRs Larry Fitzgerald, Reggie Wayne and Greg Jennings. Instead, they'll need to be seen and heard in other irritating, boastful ways, like true divas do.
Thanks to these eagerly awaiting egotists, the "Diva Wide Recivea Era" of wide-mouthed wide-outs will never wane in the NFL.
It will only transition again.
Straight talk. No static.
