TNA Impact Wrestling Spoilers of the 8/4/11 Taping
(Spoilers follow, if you don't want to read the spoilers please close this article now)
Hello wrestling fans, sports entertainment fans and all those in between. It's time for your weekly visit from the Spoiler.
This is of course the TNA "Go Home Show" leading up to Hardcore Justice.
So without further ado, here are this weeks Impact Wrestling Spoilers:
Anderson and Immortal come down to the ring. Anderson says he respects everyone in Immortal but Bully Ray. They brawl in the ring before being separated.
1) Madison Rayne pins Miss Tessmacher via roll-up.
(After the match Rayne beats down Tessmacher, Mickie tries to make the save but is stopped by Winter and Zombie Love.)
2) Devon pins AJ Styles via Roll Up.
(Pope sat with Devon's kids at ringside. Daniels accidentally distracted AJ giving Devon the win.)
3) Pope beats Samoa Joe via DQ.
(Joe originally won by submissions, but the decision was reversed after he didn't break the hold. Devon's kids were begging him to help Pope, but he responds by shoving one of his kids over.)
4) Street Fight No Rules Match: Hernandez w/ Mexican America pins Robert Roode w/ James Storm via ref distraction.
5) Austin Aries pins Alex Shelly via Brainbuster.
We now get a message that Crimson will face a mystery opponent at Hardcore Justice.
6) Crimson and Rob Van Dam beat Gunner and Scott Steiner via pinfall.
(Rob Van Dam pinned Scott Steiner after a Frog Splash.)
We also had an Angle/Sting contract signing where both men cut promos saying that they have respect for one another, but they will walk away the champ.
Those were the spoilers, now it's time for what I think.
I am really not a big fan of what they're doing with the young talent right now. AJ losing to Devon (who's now tied for third place in the series), is questionable at best, and Samoa Joe being in last place with a total of minus-10 points is ridiculous.
I mean Pope, AJ and Joe are a combined 5-23.
Also why does RVD have six matches so far, but Gunner's had 14? It makes no sense to me.
Shouldn't every wrestler wrestle the same number of matches? Isn't that how a tournament like this works?
Also why would you hint an Anderson face turn after you just made him a full heel, it makes no sense to me. I'm not saying I don't want the old tweener Anderson back, but why have him fight Bully Ray this soon?
Finally, it just doesn't seem to me that they are building Hardcore Justice that much. We got the announcement tonight that Crimson will fight a mystery opponent, but we all know it's just going to be a guy to get fed to the streak.
Other then that we didn't have the type of build you would like to see from a go home show in my opinion.
Overall I come into this Impact hesitant, but we'll see, for all I know this could be a solid episode, but on paper it leaves me with questions.
Then again, maybe I'm being too negative so we'll just see what happens come Thursday.
