WWE: CM Punk and Chris Jericho Will Save Wrestling

Jun 7, 2018

After one of the most entertaining periods of recent wrestling history, the excitement over the CM Punk quitting angle is already losing steam.

Weeks of perfectly done promos, amazing matches, and the hard work done to sell the storyline were all thrown down the toilet by the lust for money.

The WWE rushed CM Punk back from his short hiatus because they needed his hype for the second-biggest pay-per-view in the company’s year, SummerSlam.

After rushing another storyline along, they decided now was the perfect time to cram Triple H down the fans' throats as the new Chief Operating Officer, or the new Vinny Mac.

Instead of letting the Triple H angle carry people through Summer Slam and letting the did-he-or-did-he-not-quit CM Punk question sink, the WWE rushed the process like always.

As the WWE did with Tazz and Chris Jericho, the company should have used weeks of promos with no face and new music playing so the people would start to wonder.

Is that CM Punk? When is he coming back? Who is this?

It’s that excitement that the WWE missed out on, and now they present to you every Monday the same old slop there was before the CM Punk shoot promo.

What can save us from another terrible John Cena feud that wastes all of CM Punk's natural talents?

Chris Jericho.

While the WWE lets Cena feud in the corner with the Rock like the two mutant love children the WWE has turned them into, the company could hang its hat on a real title feud that features two of the best mic workers and pure wrestlers in the game.

Imagine, if you would, CM Punk cutting a promo about how bad the WWE is again, and then the lights cut out. Jericho’s music hits, and you know have two of the best talkers in the world spraying venom at each other in the ring.

It has to be better than listening to John Cena babble about hustle and arm bands, but the company needs Cena to sell to the kids.

So put him against the Rock at Wrestlemania and let everyone smile.

After it’s over and the company clears the ring, I want to see real wrestling with storylines that make me want to invest my time into them. Punk and Jericho would put a show on every time they talked or wrestled, but they have to be given free rein to take their angle where they it to go.

The last thing wrestling fans would want is the WWE getting their hands on an idea like this. They would add John Cena and lil’ Jimmy, and we would be right back to where we started.
