Premier League: 5 Bold Predictions for the Upcoming Season

Haris KarasalihovicJun 7, 2018

August 13th is right around the corner.

That day marks the start of the 2011/2012 Premier League season in England. There are always expected results and surprises that occur during the season.

From Torres and Dzeko getting off to slow starts last season, to the relegation battle, it's a thrill from start to finish.

Here are five of my predictions for the upcoming season.

5. Luis Suarez Leads Liverpool to a Champions League Place

1 of 5

Luis Suarez created sparks for Liverpool last season, and he played exceptional football in the Copa America for Uruguay over the summer.

He has a sense for goal like no other at the moment, and he's a duplicate of Dirk Kuyt, always working hard for every single ball that's out there.

Suarez is going to turn up the heat for his club side and help them reach the top four, earning them a place in the 2012/13 Champions League.

4. Luka Modric Leaves Tottenham for Stamford Bridge in January

2 of 5

Chelsea, stay focused on getting your man, Luka Modric. He wants to leave.

If Chelsea stay persistent in the chase for the Croatian playmaker, Tottenham will eventually sell.

He's handed in transfer requests, only for Tottenham to reject them thus far. I think Tottenham will get tired of playing cat-and-mouse and cash in on Modric in January.

3. Dzeko and Aguero Fight at a Training Session, Dzeko Gets Sold to Juventus

3 of 5

Edin Dzeko won't like the fact that another striker was brought in by Roberto Mancini; especially one of the caliber of Sergio Aguero.

Dzeko will take his frustrations out on Sergio in practice near the January transfer window and will be sold to Juve, where Dzeko wanted to go in the first place.

2. Newcastle Gets Relegated

4 of 5

Today, I read that Joey Barton was transfer listed. That's not a good sign.

I watched Newcastle play Orlando City, here at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, a couple of weeks ago.

Orlando City is leading the USL Pro at the moment. Mind you this is the second division, so to speak, of American soccer.

Newcastle lost 1-0. No offense to Orlando City, I love the club, but if Newcastle can't compete against a USL Pro side, how are they going to compete in the EPL?

Toon Army, prepare for the Coca-Cola Championship.

1. Chelsea Wraps Up the Title with a Fernando Torres Goal at Anfield

5 of 5

This is as bold as it gets.

I have faith in Fernando Torres. He had a bad start to his career at Stamford Bridge.

I say Chelsea is hungry for the title more than ever, Torres leads the front line, and when May 5th comes around, expect him to score on Chelsea's trip to Anfield, his former home, to clinch a lead in the title race for Chelsea.
