Terrell Owens Free Agency: Best Possible Destinations for T.O.

Matt SteinJun 7, 2018

After Randy Moss announced his retirement, all eyes shifted to Terrell Owens. It may seem crazy that teams are still interested in him but there are plenty of possible destinations where he could end up.

His offseason ACL surgery has thrown up some red flags, but all signs point to Owens being back to full strength and ready to play football. Here are the four best possible destinations for him.

Cleveland Browns

1 of 4

At this point in his career, Terrell Owens isn't going to be an elite receiver. He still has plenty of ability, but he shouldn't be a team's top target.

While the Cleveland Browns don't really have a true No. 1 receiver, they do have some good young talent that could develop into the top guy. I know this sounds crazy, but Owens might actually be able to step in and provide some mentoring to this young group.

Colt McCoy would likely benefit the most as he would have Owens to act as a safety net.

Tennessee Titans

2 of 4

Things are looking pretty bad in Tennessee right now. Their defense took a big hit when both Jason Babin and Stephen Tulloch left via free agency.

Even with losing those players, the Titans defense will still be mediocre. However, their offense is a completely different story. They brought in Matt Hasselbeck to start at quarterback and mentor Jake Locker, but he really doesn't have anyone to throw to with the recent legal troubles of Kenny Britt.

Should Terrell Owens end up in Tennessee, Hasselbeck would have a seasoned veteran to throw the ball too. Owens wouldn't need to be the focal point of the offense, but a nice complimentary player.

Minnesota Vikings

3 of 4

Come on, who doesn't want to see Donovan McNabb and Terrell Owens reunite?

All joking aside, this would actually be a great destination for Owens. The Vikings lost Sidney Rice and while they still have plenty of talent at receiver, they lack a big, possession receiver like Owens. He would get plenty of opportunities to make plays across the middle of the field in Minnesota's offense.

He also wouldn't need to feel like he had to be the star. With Adrian Peterson clearly the offensive leader of that team, Owens could do what he does best, catch the football.

Arizona Cardinals

Terrell Owens ending up in Arizona would certainly be shocking, but it would be a great team for Owens to play for.

The NFC West is a weak conference and Arizona has a real chance at taking the division. They lost Steve Breaston to Kansas City and while Early Doucet looks capable of playing opposite Larry Fitzgerald, Owens would be a better option.

With Fitzgerald, Owens and Doucet the Cardinals would have a great group of receivers for newly acquired Kevin Kolb to throw the ball to.
