WWE SmackDown! Preview: Will Darkness Fall On Moscow On Friday Night?

Ron JohnsonNov 7, 2008

Tonight will determine everything for the future of SmackDown! If there is any night where everyone should be watching, it's tonight. After last week, tonight's broadcast should put everything into motion for Survivor Series.

Here's a quick preview of tonight's Friday Night SmackDown!

Gold Standard Set To See What's Up

Shelton Benjamin proved that he can win when it counts as he handed R-Truth his first defeat in the WWE during their preview match at Cyber Sunday. Now tonight, The Gold Standard is set to defend the United States Championship once again against the Carolina Crack-A-Lacker one more time.

Can R-Truth fulfill his destiny and lay claim to the United States Championship? Or will Shelton Benjamin continue to dominate when the gold is on the line?

Khali Plays Hero

On Monday night, The Great Khali did something that no one expected. This time last year, Khali was crushing the skull of Rey Mysterio during his reign as World Champion. This past Monday, Khali came down and attacked both Kane and Mark Henry during their tag match with Rey Mysterio and Kofi Kingston. He even prompted Mysterio to deliver the 619 to Mark Henry.

Now back on SD!, Khali is expected to continue showing his fun side with The Khali Kiss Cam. But will Kane, Mark Henry or both make an appearance during tonight's broadcast to confront the Punjabi Playboy?

Is it time to cash in, Montel?

For almost three months, MVP has been trying to win the biggest match of his career. It isn't for any championships; it's for his incentive bonus that is given upon winning his next match. Tonight, he may have yet another chance to cash in that contract before he heads out to different pastures.

Can MVP finally cash in and collect? Or will someone else keep Porter from getting richer at the expense of the SmackDown! audience?

Moscow Meets Death Valley

After defeating Chavo Guerrero in a Casket Match last week, The Undertaker continued his reign of terror on Monday Night by dropping JBL. Now Vickie Guerrero is hellbent on making sure that someone takes the Undertaker down for good. And she may have finally found someone to do just that.

To do this, she has requested the services of the Moscow Mauler to face the Deadman tonight. If Vladimir Kozlov manages to knock off The Undertaker, he will face Triple H for the WWE Championship at Survivor Series. See why I said everyone should be watching tonight? Triple H, Vickie, Big Show and maybe another Superstar will be intrigued to see how this one ends.

Can the Moscow Mauler remain undefeated and earn his spot against The Game at Survivor Series? Or will The Deadman continue his quest to put Vickie Guerrero out of her misery? What role will Big Show and Triple H play in the outcome of tonight's huge main event? And if the Mauler fails, does this mean that The King of Kings and The Deadman are on yet another collision course that will lead to Boston?

Tune in tonight for the answers to these questions and many other side storylines on tonight's edition of Friday Night SmackDown!
