TNA Wrestling: Why We Need to See a Feud Between AJ Styles and Daniels
It’s been teased for a few weeks, and now it looks like it may happen.
According to Tribalwrestling.com, there may finally be a chink in the armor between AJ Styles and Daniels. While I am not one who likes to report on spoilers, I can say that maybe this will be the beginning of a feud between the two real life friends in TNA.
All of this started when AJ Styles was shocked by the request of Daniels to meet at Destination X to headline the PPV event. The match was great, maybe not the best the two have had in the past, but it still showed the drive and determination the two had when it came to the X-Division.
A curious thing happened during the PPV, Daniels said he was shuffled in the middle of the deck since returning to TNA, which immediately put up a red flag. Now, there are reasons to have such a feud.
Four Is Better Than Five
1 of 9Fortune is a good stable with Styles, James Storm, Kazarian, and Bobby Roode. Daniels is the fifth wheel.
And while he was great in his entrance into TNA when Styles was hurt, it seemed a little odd at first.
The four guys who started the faction should remain in the faction. The Four Horsemen never became "Five", although they filtered other guys in and out when needed.
AJ Styles Needs to Get Back to Being a Headliner
2 of 9I do not foresee Styles winning the Bound for Glory Series, but I could be wrong.
Styles has been a midcard exception for a while now and getting involved in a feud like this makes him a top star again.
Styles is as close to the franchise as this company has and feuding with his best friend can again bring out the best in him.
Daniels Needs to Stay Relevant
3 of 9Since coming over form ROH, honestly, what has Daniels done?
He has not been in the title picture and has not really stuck his face in anything except AJ Styles' business.
The feud keeps him relevant.
The Writers Should Know This Would Be the Biggest Thing in TNA This Year so Far
4 of 9Forget Sting and the pursuit of Hogan.
Forget Angle and his battle with Jeff Jarrett.
This would be the Feud of the Year in TNA.
It would spike ratings. Life would be interesting.
Maybe It Leads to Daniels Forming His Own Clique
5 of 9Maybe it leads to another faction in the company.
Daniels is a little more dark than his four colleagues and adding more darkness (Austin Aires, Abyss, maybe The Pope).
Stables are great for wrestling and open doors for so many more angles.
It Allows Daniels to Play the Disrespected Card
6 of 9We all love it when a face turns heel and then says he is disrespected.
Daniels even said he was lost in the shuffle. It shows in his demeanor.
It also means that he can turn on his friend, which in wrestling is the cruelest cut of them all.
If Styles Wins BFG Series, It Sets Up a Great PPV Match for the Title
7 of 9Daniels vs. Styles for the world title!
The sound of that is awesome and means more people my buy into the network, brand, angle, whatever.
Plus it is another chance to see to X-Division stars show off some of the best wrestling anywhere.
And it is a feud that has some legs and can run for a while.
It Could Be Better Than Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho
8 of 9This type of feud where the wrestlers know each other better than anyone other foes, it makes for undescribed drama.
This either stays a fire for months of flames out. Jericho and Michaels was a flame thrower.
This has that type of energy.
The Fans Want to See More of It
9 of 9At Destination X, we were sure Daniels would turn on AJ. It is almost like we got cheated.
The match was great, but it was also bland.
We need to see a face turn.
The more the fans see, the more they want.
TNA creative knows what we want, so give it to us.
