Ohio State Football: Linebacker Jonathan Newsome Transfers to Ball State

This fall, Ohio State will miss another face on the field.

Linebacker Jonathan Newsome announced via Twitter that he is leaving the university's football program to attend Ball State

Newsome posted:

“Its a long story but i need a fresh start"

He also wrote:

"I love O State n all my teammates n friends i made here...however i gotta keep it movin. Catch me at a couple games in the shoe."

Newsome was a 3-star recruit and came to Columbus in 2009. This 6'3'', 219-pound linebacker had 14 tackles last season, six of which were solo. 

Ohio State has yet to officially confirm the news, but Newsome has been removed from the team's roster on the official website.
