Chad Ochocinco, Tom Brady and Bill Belichick: NFL's Modern Day "Odd Couple"
Chad Ochocinco and Tom Brady working together under Bill Belichick, what an "odd couple!"
It's happening, even if we think it's one of the strangest bed fellows we've seen in recent years. This modern day "odd couple" may challenge our bias or validate our concerns.
Can Ochocinco really be reigned in by Belichick?

Offseason Moves for Every Team 👉
Will he place the Patriots as the No. 1 priority in his life (vs. bull riding, reality TV, horse racing, soccer and others)?
Will he and Brady mesh?
Will he find his role on the team and actually fit?
Will he follow the parameters Belichick sets to actually get a ring one day?
Will he finally get serious vs. riding high with his seemingly outlandish antics?
Will he? Will he?
Brady noted in a recent TV interview that he was excited for Chad Ochocinco to join the team, being a prolific receiver with a lot of energy.
In regards to Belichick's behavioral expectations of team members, Brady suggested the coach sets the same expectations for everyone on the team, treats them equally with the No. 1 expectation being to get the job done.
Ochocinco and Brady exhibit dichotomous characters and personalities. Ochocinco is flamboyant, risk taking, impulsive and a social media hound. Brady on the other hand, can be cool as a cucumber, limiting his social media involvement and attempting to lead a semi-private life off the field.
Belichick is a powerhouse of a coach. When we think of how he might positively effect Ochocinco, one only has to look at his recent success with Randy Moss.
Moss appeared completely transformed under Belichick. He eliminated his bad-boy, self-absorbed reputation and even enhanced his game. Some say if he can do this with Moss, Ochocinco will follow in line.
Can bad boys be tamed?
Do "odd couples" make successful matches?
The bad boy Jesse James was unable to be tamed by Sandra Bullock. Charlie Sheen has seen the demise of not only three marriages, but even his recent threesome with his "goddesses."
Yet reform can happen, just look at Johnny Depp. He defined the role of the modern bad boy with 13 tattoos, substance abuse issues, hotel trashing, brawling with the paparazzi and high-profile romances (Winona Ryder, Kate Moss). Nowadays, the father of two has settled down with Vanessa Paradis (since 1998), is sober and even smoke-free.
So, Ochocinco has the possibility to be tamed ? Let's hope.
What about opposite personalities? Opposite styles? There have been many an "odd couple" in Hollywood such as: Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley, Ted Danson and Whoopi Goldberg, Julia Roberts and Lyle Lovett, yet all these led to a divorce or break up.
The only odd couple I am aware of that is in the spotlight and have thrived are the politically opposed pundits, James Carville (Democrat) and Mary Matalin (Republican).
Being a bad boy and an odd couple can work against the odds, yet with Belichick in the lead, we can be cautiously optimistic.
Ochocinco and Brady are the modern day "odd couple."
