NFL Picks: Week 10

MJ KasprzakNov 6, 2008

The following are my picks for Week 10 of the NFL season. One represents the team I am least sure will win, and 14 the team I am most sure of; there is no consideration of how they will do against the spread.

  1. Buffalo Bills over New England Patriots: I finally bought into the Bills, and I cannot see them losing their first three in this mediocre division. If they do, they will NOT make the playoffs.
  2. Atlanta Falcons over New Orleans Saints: I'm not convinced Atlanta will be able to keep playing at this level, and I expect New Orleans to bust out soon, but without Reggie Bush and defensive injuries, I have to pick the Falcons.
  3. Minnesota Vikings over Green Bay Packers: If the Vikings were without their outstanding Williams' defensive tackles, I could pick Green Bay, but the Packers still cannot stop the run.
  4. Philadelphia Eagles over New York Giants: One of the few games left on their schedule that New York could lose, so I have to say they will.
  5. Denver Broncos over Cleveland Browns: I know, I'm actually picking Denver, but while Quinn may be alright against that defense, a short week to prepare for his first game means he won't do as well as Derek Anderson would have, and the Browns need everything they can get. Plus, Quinn's probably tired and discouraged from campaigning for the defeated John McCain.
  6. Tennessee Titans over Chicago Bears: I am just not that impressed with the Titans, who barely beat a mediocre Packers team at home; fortunately for them, they play the Bears with Rex Grossman under center.
  7. Jacksonville Jaguars over Detroit Lions: You have to admire Del Rio for sitting Mike Peterson—he was right, but he's sitting his best linebacker after losing to a winless team, and if they lose to another, he'll be fired before the calendar turns to 2009.
  8. New York Jets over St. Louis Rams: The Rams have playmakers, and Brett Favre is on a four-game streak of throwing more picks than touchdowns...This could be an upset.
  9. Pittsburgh Steelers over Indianapolis Colts: The Colts are still dangerous and getting healthier themselves, and the Steelers are missing Ben Roethlisberger and probably Willie Parker.
  10. Baltimore Ravens over Houston Texans: Baltimore is too unpredictable to put a lot of points on, even though Matt Schaub was hurt by Jarred Allen's questionable actions last week.
  11. Dolphins over Seahawks: Seattle doesn't get Hasselbeck back until next week, but they are getting healthier.
  12. Carolina Panthers over Oakland Raiders: I still think Carolina is not as good as their record, but c'mon, theyr'e playing Oakland.
  13. Arizona Cardinals over San Francisco 49ers: See above—Bay Area football stinks...makes me glad I'm a Packers fan!
  14. San Diego Chargers over Kansas City Chiefs: Even as badly as the Chargers have been playing, they have to win this one!
