UNLEASHED/Broncos Stampede

Browns Backers,

Tilt - " to incline in opinion, feeling, etc."

With the euphoria of change sweeping the air, it seems fitting that both the American people and the Cleveland Browns decided to unseat maligned and unpopular incumbents and move forward in a bold and audacious new direction.

That being said, newly anointed starter, QB Brady Quinn will make his regular season debut against the Denver Broncos tomorrow evening and despite the raging controversy and deep division amongst Browns fans and players this could either prove to be a bold stroke of genius and unite the Browns or potentially sink an already under-achieving team.

But with the fate of the season hanging in the balance fans of the wildly popular Quinn and even his detractors are angling to see what he brings to the table, and I have to say is that I'am all in!

We will never really know if this decision to switch to Quinn came from the top, or it was Crennel's, but as I said in my last column, it didn't surprise me that Lerner and Savage heard the deafening cascade of boos in Berea and forced Crennel to make the switch, like it or not Quinn is the future of this franchise and isn't it time to get some return on your investment?

I'm not in favor of starting Quinn on a short week because this only does him a serious injustice and may set him up to fail, another shining example of Browns mis-management as to simply throw in you $20 million dollar first-rounder and give him only ONE day of practice!

Secondly, making a Pro-Bowl QB the fall guy after winning you ten games last year and almost leading you to the playoffs, only to turn on him shows a serious lack of direction and commitment on the team and letting your fans influence your decision is just plain irresponsible, be that as it may Anderson is just as at fault for his benching for failing to manage the game and being inconsistent.

I will support Quinn as the QB because maybe there is a reason why the Browns traded back into the first to get him and who knows maybe he will be the first long term, steady leader that this team and this city can unite around, but talk to me after the Denver game first!

As to the Broncos, they will be coming into Cleveland after losing 26-17 atop the AFC West with a 4-4 mark and losers of their last three games, QB Jay Cutler has looked steady for them by passing for 2,169 yards to go along with 15 touchdowns, they also have a formidable running game with RB's Selvin Young and Micheal Pittman that give the Browns some issues and considering that a rookie (Ray Rice) ran on them for 157 yards, you can only imagine what Denver's zone-blocking scheme will do to them.

The WR corps of Brandon Marshall and Eddie Royal nedd to be dealt with my plaing some man-to-man and getting physical with them, I'm not sure if Marshall is still jawing with Porter but he seems to me like he can be knocked off off his game.

You all know where I stand on this defense and if the Browns are going to give Quinn any shot of winning his debut they need to man up and make some stops so they can get off of the field, let alone rest come the fourth quarter.  It would also help Quinn if Edwards actually CATCHES the ball.

The crowd should energize Quinn and the Browns and maybe even give the team some much needed confidence, and going against the fifth worst pass defense in the NFL should help Quinn get into a rhythm early and make some plays then the Browns have a shot.

Prediction: Browns 21 Broncos 17

At 3-4,This is a must-win for the browns and I think Quinn could lead them otherwise their slim wild card hopes are all but finished.
