NFL Trades: Miami Dolphins Welcome Reggie Bush

Jeff CohnJun 2, 2018

Florida, also known as the Sunshine State, now has a new athlete looking to also shine in the spotlight. The Miami Dolphins just made a deal today with the New Orleans Saints that will allow them to acquire Reggie Bush.

Although he is not permitted to sign the contract until later today (Friday) at 6 P.M. (ET), the running back said, through Twitter, that he is "[looking] forward to building something special in Miami and can't wait to embark on this new journey!"

Bush also paid homage to his New Orleans fans and wished them good luck in the future. He debuted for the Saints back in 2006, just one year after the young talent won the Heisman Trophy (until Bush gave it back last year).

The former USC star is now 26 years old and knows what it takes and feels like to win a Super Bowl championship. He will play a large role in the media, due to high expectations of success for both him and the Dolphins in the upcoming season.

Reggie Bush has allegedly signed a two-year deal with the Dolphins, and The Herald reported that his contract entitles him to approximately $9.75 million with a $2.5 million signing bonus.

The question now is to see how Bush adapts and adjusts to his new Floridian team and players and to see if he can win another championship within the next two years. Of course, nothing is guaranteed in the tough NFL but everything can be earned with hard work and determination.

The lockout's conclusion has brought about more efficient training and practice schedules. Perhaps Reggie Bush can silence the critics and prove that he is a force on any team and can satisfy the press—as both a popular celebrity and as a highly capable football player.
