Breaking TNA News: Destination X Buy Rates, Hogan's TV Deal, Weddings and More

Hello, ladies and gents, and welcome to another news article. Let's go ahead and dive right into the TNA headlines.

Destination X Buy Rates

TNA's Destination X buy rates were announced today, and considering that Genesis 2006 (Kurt vs Joe) was their best selling PPV of all time with 60,000 buys, how many buys do you think Destination X managed?

TNA marks may want to stop reading now because the answer is not good.

Between 8,000 and 8,500 buys (information comes from Dave Meltzer at Wrestling Observer). In other words, terrible.

By comparison, that's around the level that they were drawing back before they were on TV.

I don't even want to think about how it compared to the WWE's Money in the Bank.

The sad thing is, I really enjoyed this PPV, and for the first time in a long time, felt I got my money's worth from a TNA PPV.

The real problem here is that this was supposed to be the PPV that everyone bought. You had AJ/Daniels, a solid looking Ultimate X match, a great looking X-Division Contract Match, a rematch of two legends, RVD and Jerry Lynn and you had the return of the six sided ring. You had it all, and it couldn't even beat the numbers of the past few PPV's.

Maybe this is just the fact that many people these days are using illegal streams to watch PPV's.

Maybe TNA should think about lowering their PPV prices.

And maybe, just maybe, TNA should do what it was thinking about doing a few months ago and not put on 12 PPV's a year.

Then again these are only suggestions, so please comment below about what you think TNA should do to increase buy rates.

TNA Star Engaged

A big congratulations to TNA Wrestler Jesse Neal who announced on his twitter the other day that he and his girlfriend, wrestler Christina Von Eerie, are engaged.

Here is the tweet:

"It is official guys me and Christina r engaged! She is the love of my life and we r happier then ever!!!!!"

Good for them.

 

Hogan and Bischoff's TV Show

Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff's Micro Championship Wrestling will debut on September 14 at 10 p.m. EST on True TV.

The "wrestling promotion" (if you can call it that) focuses on midget wrestling. Yes; you did read that right, midget wrestling. MIDGET-MANIA'S RUNNIN' WILD, BROTHER!!!!

TNA Star Injured

James Storm wrote on his Twitter Tuesday that he suffered a back injury during this week's taping. He was later told by doctors that it was a bulging disc.

It is reported that the injury happened backstage, not during an actual match.

Hopefully, he'll be better before his next match against Mexican America, but as of right now, James Storm, I'm sorry 'bout your damn luck.

TNA Signs Former Big Brother Bad Boy

Yep, the title just about says it all.

TMZ.com is reporting that reality TV "star" (and I say that in the loosest sense of the word) Jessie "Mr. Pec-Tacular" Godderz has signed a developmental deal with TNA Wrestling.

If you ask me, TNA's pulling a Robbie E here and trying to copy one of the WWE's top/most popular guys.

AWWWWWWW-FUL!!!!

If I was a betting man, and I am, I would bet 100 bucks that this blows up in their face.
