Manchester United: 18-Year-Old Max Lonsdale's Video That Resulted in a Trial

Max Lonsdale, 18 years old, was given a trial by Manchester United. Lonsdale is a center midfielder who was released from Macclesfield Town earlier this year.

According to 101GreatGoals.com, what Lonsdale did next is something that many die-hard United fans would not dare to do: He knocked on the door of Sir Alex Ferguson's house and gave him a DVD.

SAF told Lonsdale that a United Reserve coach would take a look at it and that he would be in contact. Impressed by what they saw, United offered Lonsdale a one-week trial, which then eventually led to another week and two reserve game appearances. 

The future of Lonsdale is now uncertain, but from watching the video, I am sure his skill and relentless effort will impress the coaches. As seen on the video, Lonsdale is a center midfielder who can dribble and pass the ball extremely well.

But what was the most impressive part of this video?

His left foot. The 18-year-old has the ability to shoot from range with his left foot.

Lonsdale would be a good addition to the United midfield and this could also be a long-term solution to the current center midfield position. Even though it would take a few years for Lonsdale to break into the first team, he will need to develop himself in the reserves first. His effort, dedication and skill is something that is hard to find now a days.
