Kyle Orton Rumors: 4 Dolphins Whose Games Kyle Orton Would Instantly Improve

Tony SantorsaJul 27, 2011

The latest buzz surrounding quarterback Kyle Orton is that he's likely going to be traded to the Miami Dolphins, according to South Florida Sun-Sentinel

If a trade is made official, then Orton will likely enter 2011 as the Miami Dolphins starting quarterback.

Here are four Miami Dolphin players that Orton would instantly improve their games.

Davone Bess

1 of 4

Over the past couple of seasons Davone Bess as emerged as one of the league's most dynamic slot wide receivers.

Last season for Miami, Bess reeled in 79 passes for a total of 820 yards while scoring five touchdowns.

Assuming that Orton will be the guy slinging Bess passes, I'd expect Bess' numbers to become even better, potentially Pro Bowl worthy.

Chad Henne

2 of 4

You may be wondering how Kyle Orton, the guy likely to steal Chad Henne's starting job away from him, will make him better—well, it's simple: competition.

If Henne is a competitor, which we all hope he is, then the addition of Orton should cause Henne to up his game in a big way. And if he doesn't, then Henne should never be considered to be a starting quarterback in the NFL ever again.

Daniel Thomas

3 of 4

Rookie running back Daniel Thomas is coming into a tough situation in Miami, as he'll likely have to take on the production that was once created by Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams.

If the Dolphins do land Kyle Orton, then their passing game should improve which will take some much needed pressure off of the rookie out of Kansas State.

Brandon Marshall

4 of 4

Wide receiver Brandon Marshall had a rather off year last season for the Dolphins, as he caught 86 passes for only three touchdowns. Marshall's low production was due to Miami's constant quarterback problems.

If Kyle Orton is traded to Miami, he'd likely end up being the team's starting quarterback.

Orton is a proven NFL quarterback that has put up huge numbers over the past few seasons. Orton is a smart guy and will likely target Marshall as frequent as possible.
