Arsenal Transfer Rumours: Wenger Wants Anderlecht Midfielder Lucas Biglia

Arsenal are apparently thinking of signing Argentine midfielder Lucas Biglia from Belgian club Anderlecht.

Biglia recently made his debut for the Argentina national team and played at this year's Copa America. Now he thinks that he is ready for a bigger challenge: "I think I have come to the end of my time at Anderlecht. The board know what I want. Playing for Argentina opens lots of doors for me," he told Het Nieuwsblad. 

The talk comes amid rumors that captain Cesc Fabregas's transfer to Barcelona will be completed in the next few days.

Biglia's tough-tackling style of play is exactly what Arsene Wenger wants to add to the Gunner's midfield and a bid of £6m looks to be in place for the 25-year-old.

Lucas Biglia began his career in Argetina with Argentinos Juniors and Independiente. He arrived at Anderlecht in 2006, establishing his spot in the first team, and has since scored five goals in 153 appearances. 

Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have also expressed interest in Biglia, a member of the winning Argentina squad at the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship alongside Lionel Messi, but Arsenal will be keen to snap up their man quickly this time around.
