NFL Free Agency: Eagles Cash In, Rob Cardinals in Kevin Kolb Trade

After over four months of speculation during the lockout period of the NFL, Kevin Kolb has officially been dealt to the Arizona Cardinals by the Philadelphia Eagles. The exact terms and conditions with Kevin Kolb's contract has yet to be ironed out. The Arizona Cardinals have given up Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and a second-round draft pick.

The Arizona Cardinals hope the Texas-born gunslinger can assimilate into the offense quickly and help them compete in what was the poorest division in football during the NFL 2010 season.

The Philadelphia Eagles walk away filling their need at right cornerback and a draft pick to either wheel 'n deal for other players or use during next year's draft. The Philadelphia Eagles clearly won the deal when they made the Easter day trade for Donovan McNabb last offseason. Only time will tell if the Philadelphia Eagles or Arizona Cardinals walk away with the better deal in the long anticipated Kevin Kolb trade between the two former division rivals.

At the moment it looks like the Eagles walked away the victors. The Arizona Cardinals, according to Adam Schefter's reporting that the deal is worth.

The Arizona Cardinals shell out a pretty penny for the former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback who only started a total of seven games in his career in Philadelphia.

For now the two teams walk away from the table filling a gaping need. The Philadelphia Eagles secure a potential Pro-Bowl caliber wing-man for Pro-Bowl cornerback Asante Samuel. The Arizona Cardinals received a starting caliber quarterback in Kevin Kolb, while also appeasing the wishes of All-Pro wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, who is in a contract year.
