Dolphins 4-4 Who Woulda' Thunk It?

The Miami Dolphins, 1-15 a year ago, started this season 0-2. However they have begun a resurgence will going 4-2 in their last 6. Normally .500 would not sound so sweet for any sports fan. However, Miami Dolphin fans throughout the nation are rejoicing for the redemption that the Sparano administration is bringing. 

Following several years of mediocrity and the abysmal performance of last season it finally appears as though the Phins are headed in the right direction. Impressive wins over the Patriots, Chargers, Bills and Broncos have shown the ability and the talent hidden in this team. This season could turnout as a huge surprise for NFL fans all over.

Let's breakdown all the positions on the field to show what kind of future awaits Miami.

Offense: 

QB: Chad Pennington has lead this team to a 4-4 start which is a vast improvement over last year, not only is Pennington a great leader but he is also serving as a great mentor for young quarterbacks Chad Henne and John Beck. The addition of Pennington has bean a great benefit to this franchise.

RB: Ronnie Brown is young and an extremely versatile back as we have seen this year with the "wildcat" formation or as I like to call it the WildPhin. Brown can plow through tacklers, he can dodge potential tacklers and has great vision in the backfield. Patrick Cobbs has shown his upside too, don't forget Cobbs back there. Ricky Williams may not be around a whole lot longer but he has helped this team this year posing as a reliever to Ronnie Brown.

WR: The wide receiver position has looked like a weak point most of this year but in reality this bunch of no-names is a solid unit. Ted Ginn Jr. who more people know than the rest hasn't quite been resilient but he is fast and has good hands, once he learns to be more aggressive he will make a great receiver. Greg Camarillo who is perhaps the no-name of no-names in this unit actually leads in receiving for the Dolphins, he had 11 receptions for 111 yds. in Denver last week. Greg Camarillo has shown memories of Wes Welker in Miami before he was traded to New England. Rookie Devone Bess from Hawaii has proven himself to be a great addition to the team as well. Bess has made several big catches for the Dolphins this year and has had his share of kick and punt returns as well.

TE: Fasano and Martin have proven to be more of a threat than we all thought. Anthony Fasano is Pennington's 2nd favorite target only to Greg Camarillo. David Martin even gets in on the receiving game every now and then as the second look tight end in the flats.

OL: Wow, Jake Long has proved himself as a terrific 1st pick. Ndukwe and Carey have proved to be great as well. Sampson Satele is doing a great job as well, proving he can snap and hit the man in front.

DL: Holliday and Ferguson have provided as great mentors for Phillip Merling, they have stuffed the line along with the linebacking core.

LB: Linebackers are excelling at their job this year. Joey Porter leads the league in sacks. Crowder is a hard hitter who forces fumbles. Matt Roth is making a great transition. Ayodele is doing great back with the Parcells system.

DB: The DBs are better than expected, way to go with those 3 picks against Denver.

Special Teams: 

K: Carpenter has made 7 of his last 7 (100%) 5 from beyond 40 yards. Carpenter looks to be the new Olindo Mare.

P: Fields has shown off his accuracy as he has pinned many an opponent back inside the 10.

Cover/Return: Definitely need improvement. Could be their demise later on.
