Tampa Bay Buccaneers Free Agency: Todd Heap Cut, Becomes Perfect Fit for Bucs

Tom EdringtonJun 7, 2018

I have two words for you: Todd Heap.

He's out there and he's available thanks to the Baltimore Ravens releasing him, running back Willis McGahee, nose tackle Kelly Gregg and wide receiver Derrick Mason.

Salary cap problems for those feisty Ravens. Heap was schedule to make $4.6 million, Mason $4.5 million, Gregg $3.5 million and McGahee $6 million.

The Bucs say they want to add some weapons for Josh Freeman, well, Heap is a weapon of mass destruction for NFL secondaries.

Think Heap and Kellen Winslow, Jr. might pose a problem to opposing defenses?

Mason might warrant a look-see as well.

And while you're at it, what's wrong with going for Gregg?  Anyone from that Ravens defense is a nasty guy, and these Bucs could use a little nasty on the defensive side of the ball.

McGahee? Why not?

You've got accomplished players from a solid AFC playoff team.

What are they waiting for? You want better, you want better defense, you want more weapons for Freeman?

Let's do it!

As wild as that sounds, there's more to come.

Fun, isn't it?
