NFL Free Agents 2011: Pressing Free Agency Needs for All 32 Teams

Tony SantorsaJun 7, 2018

As the NFL lockout came to an end today, we can now start focusing on free agency and team needs.

Free agency will now start Tuesday, but nothing can be made official until this Friday, according to multiple sources

With teams gearing up to negotiate contracts with players, here is each pressing need for every team in the NFL.

Arizona Cardinals

1 of 32

Team Needs: QB, OL and WR

I'm sure Kevin Kolb is atop of nearly every Arizona Cardinals' fans wish list, but trading for the Philadelphia Eagles' backup may be a bit too pricey.

Some other quarterback options could be Marc Bulger, Vince Young or even Seneca Wallace.

Atlanta Falcons

2 of 32

Team Needs: OL, S and RB

Atlanta Falcons offensive tackle Tyson Clabo will likely test the free agent market, but according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Falcons will attempt to re-sign the 29-year-old.

Baltimore Ravens

3 of 32

Team Needs: QB, WR and OL

Wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh simply did not work out as the Baltimore Ravens' No. 2 wide receiver outside of Anquan Boldin.

Braylon Edwards, like Houshmandzadeh, is a tall and physical receiver who could fill the needs at wide receiver for the Ravens.

Buffalo Bills

4 of 32

Team Needs: QB, OL, TE and secondary

With Donte Whitner likely signing elsewhere, the Buffalo Bills will need to add some depth to their defensive backfield, and could target players such as Dawan Landry and Eric Weddle.

Carolina Panthers

5 of 32

Team Needs: QB, WR, TE and secondary

One player who makes perfect sense to me is San Diego Chargers safety Eric Weddle. Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera spent the past few seasons as the Chargers' defensive coordinator, and I'm sure he wouldn't mind adding Weddle to Carolina's weak defense.

Chicago Bears

6 of 32

Team Needs: WR, OL and LB

The Chicago Bears need to find a No. 1 wide receiver if they want to compete with the Green Bay Packers, and Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Mike Sims-Walker is a player who comes to mind.

Cincinnati Bengals

7 of 32

Team Needs: S, QB and RB

Buffalo Bills free agent safety Donte Whitner could certainly fill the Bengals' need at safety with his playmaking ability.

Cleveland Browns

8 of 32

Team Needs: DL, secondary and WR

Jason Babin is one pass-rusher who comes to mind who would be an instant impact on the Cleveland Browns, considering their almost nonexistent pass-rush from 2010.

Dallas Cowboys

9 of 32

Team Needs: S, DL and OL

I am 100 percent positive Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys would love to add Nnamdi Asomugha, no matter how large the price tag is.

Denver Broncos

10 of 32

Team Needs: DL, RB and OL

Due to the familiarity between DeAngelo Williams and first-year head coach John Fox, I think it's safe to bet on the Denver Broncos targeting Williams this offseason.

Detroit Lions

11 of 32

Team Needs: CB, LB and OG

Antonio Cromartie may not be a top-tier cornerback, but he's definitely worthy of being a team's No. 1 cornerback.

Expect the Lions to take a look at Cromartie.

Green Bay Packers

12 of 32

Team Needs: OLB, DE and OL

Linebacker Rocky McIntosh is one player who the Packers may target. He'll add some much-needed depth and experience at the linebacker position.

Houston Texans

13 of 32

Team Needs: CB, S and DL

You can bet on the Houston Texans being a major player in the Nnamdi Asomugha sweepstakes this offseason.

Indianapolis Colts

14 of 32

Team Needs: RB, S and DT

The Indianapolis Colts could certainly add some depth at defensive end, and the Seattle Seahawks' Brandon Mebane could certainly be an option.

Jacksonville Jaguars

15 of 32

Team Needs: OLB, S and DE

The former Cleveland Browns outside linebacker would be a great addition to the Jacksonville Jaguars' defense.

Kansas City Chiefs

16 of 32

Team Needs: NT, OLB and OL

Carolina Panthers defensive end Charles Johnson could be a nice asset to the Kansas City Chiefs' pass-rush with his solid 12 sacks in 2011.

Miami Dolphins

17 of 32

Team Needs: QB, S and RB

Vince Young is definitely an intriguing option for the Miami Dolphins. He'd bring a 30-17 career record to Miami.

Minnesota Vikings

18 of 32

Team Needs: QB, OL, S and WR

Let's be realistic, it would not be a wise idea to start Christian Ponder immediately in Minnesota, so veteran quarterback Matt Hasselbeck could be a perfect fit as a Viking.

New England Patriots

19 of 32

Team Needs: OLB, WR and DL

Sidney Rice is certainly a long-shot for New England, but he fits their wide receiver need perfectly.

New Orleans Saints

20 of 32

Team Needs: OLB, OL and S

It'd be a wise move for the New Orleans Saints to re-sign Roman Harper, as he's not only a productive player but also a team leader.

New York Giants

21 of 32

Team Needs: RB, LB and TE

Linebacker Stephen Tulloch was second in the NFL with 160 tackles last season and would be a great addition to New York's defense.

New York Jets

22 of 32

Team Needs: WR, OLB and DL

The New York Jets need to do whatever it takes to keep either Santonio Holmes or Braylon Edwards, as the Jets cannot afford to lose their top two wide receivers.

Oakland Raiders

23 of 32

Team Needs: TE, DB and OL

The Oakland Raiders could definitely use some help in their defensive backfield, and Quintin Mikell is a rather intriguing option as he's still productive and provides much-needed veteran leadership.

Philadelphia Eagles

24 of 32

Team Needs: LB, CB and DE

Wouldn't it be something if the Eagles were able to land Nnamdi Asomugha? Imagine Asomugha lining up opposite of Asante Samuel.

It could be a very frightening sight.

Pittsburgh Steelers

25 of 32

Team Needs: CB, RB and OL

It would be in Pittsburgh's best interest to keep Ike Taylor around for a few more seasons. He's a proven player who's been productive during his time as a Steeler.

San Diego Chargers

26 of 32

Team Needs: OLB, FS and WR

The possible addition of linebacker Kirk Morrison would add some much-needed depth for the San Diego Chargers.

Seattle Seahawks

27 of 32

Team Needs: QB, CB and DL

Carson Palmer and Pete Carroll could potentially reunite in Seattle if the Seahawks are able to land the starting quarterback in a trade with the Bengals.

San Francisco 49ers

28 of 32

Team Needs: NG, WR and DB

Wide receiver Braylon Edwards is a tough and physical player who could excel in Jim Harbaugh's West Coast offense.

St. Louis Rams

29 of 32

Team Needs: WR, RB and OLB

Reggie Bush may not be a wide receiver, but he's certainly a reliable receiver and playmaker coming out of the backfield.

Young quarterback Sam Bradford would certainly benefit from the addition of Bush, whether it's a trade or free agency.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

30 of 32

Team Needs: CB, OL and RB

With the legal troubles of Aqib Talib, it would not be a bad idea adding Chris Carr to bring some depth to Tampa Bay's secondary.

Tennessee Titans

31 of 32

Team Needs: MLB, DE and OL

If the Tennessee Titans do part ways with Jason Babin, then adding someone like Mathias Kiwanuka wouldn't a bad idea.

Washington Redskins

32 of 32

Team Needs: QB, NG and CB

Before the Washington Redskins even think about adding a quarterback, they need to do whatever it takes to hold onto Santana Moss, as he's their only playmaker and big-name player.
